The Foundry is a New York-based team of entrepreneurs, product managers, operators, and strategists who have a proven track record of turning ideas into successful new growth businesses. In April 2016, EY acquired this team out of Highnote Foundry, a venture capital and venture services firm, in order to build and launch new businesses for EY Americas Tax. EY Americas Tax is a leader in corporate tax services and is aggressively pursuing innovation to define the tax function of the future for the world’s largest multi-national corporations.

The Foundry currently has a portfolio of a dozen projects in various stages of development, including:

· A web-based application that provides clients access to EY staff for short-term tasks

· A digital transformation of the EY Employee Financial Services practice, and

· The acquisition of TaxChat, a mobile, on-demand retail tax prep start-up

The opportunity

As a Venture Strategist, you will work with senior Foundry team members to evaluate and pursue new growth opportunities.

Your key responsibilities

You will be responsible for framing problems, breaking them down into component parts, and evaluating each methodically and thoroughly. Specifically, you will conduct primary and secondary research, create financial models, and develop business cases in support of new opportunities. You will also contribute to idea development, solution design, and proof-of-concept development.

As growth opportunities are prioritized and funded, you will operate in flexibly defined roles to support the development of new businesses.

To qualify for the role you must have

· Undergraduate and/or graduate degree from a top tier university

· 4 to 5+ years of professional experience

· 2 to 3+ years of experience in management consulting or corporate strategy; experience in product management a plus

· Ability to structure problems, conduct analyses, and articulate recommendations

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

· Impeccable oral, written, and visual communication and presentation skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
