As a key player of Wells Fargo Marketing team, this role is responsible for driving profitable growth strategies that support acquisitions for Credit Cards across multiple channels including direct mail, digital, branches and telemarketing. This individual would be supporting an exciting new business strategy to market card offers to non-WF customers through a pre-screened selection process. The person in this role would partner with peers and leaders in Product, Risk, Finance and Marketing COEs to lead highly visible strategic initiatives with an increased focus on acquiring new customers/prospects to the bank. This individual would also serve as de-facto Campaign leader by setting the campaign agenda for the larger team with an eye on “test-learn-grow” mantra, develop business cases, and gain approvals under a rigorous governance structure. This individual performer is expected to translate loosely defined strategies into actionable marketing activities/campaigns while ensuring those meet the risk and return thresholds. You must be an effective “story teller” and have an innate ability to influence stakeholders and business leaders to get buy-in for your strategies. Typical projects include developing campaign strategies, multi-channel design, targeting criteria, develop compelling business cases, budget optimization, influence creative development work, perform list and creative audits, performance measurement and reporting of results. Strong strategic mindset and a results-focused attitude in a matrixed organizational structure are key traits to be successful in this role.

  • Develop strategies, and manage implementation of multi-channel marketing programs, from inception to completion, with an increased focus on direct mail
  • Ability to thrive and develop actionable marketing programs in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, with a level of ambiguity and limited direction form manager
  • Monitor, analyze and report performance results of multi-channel campaigns to stakeholders and senior executives; and shape strategic direction based on data and analysis-driven recommendations’
  • Partner with stakeholders in Marketing, Analytics, Risk, Finance and Compliance  groups to develop targeting and segmentation recommendations, leverage modeling capabilities and design campaign offer matrices
  • Build and nurture effective working partnerships with cross-functional peers and build consensus for forward-looking strategies
  • Anticipate opportunities to drive new account acquisition goals and revenue targets and bring new ideas to drive growth
  • Shape development of technical specs by giving clear direction to implementation COE team, including performing list audits and focus on minimizing operational risk
  • Participate and on occasion, proactively lead efforts to streamline and automate internal processes

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of marketing experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 6+ years data-driven and/or database direct marketing experience
  • 2+ years of credit cards experience.  Strong understanding of the credit card business P&L, customer behavior drivers and cards marketing regulations.
  • Expertise in managing multiple campaigns/projects at a time in a fast-paced environment with team members at all levels and across geography
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and influencing abilities
  • Ability to structure business cases and lead effective strategy presentations with the objective of gaining influence/buy-in from a broad-ranging audience is required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
