Northeast Marketing Manager: New York Geography/New York EOY Program Manager

(Assistant Director)

The marketing manager will manage the marketing strategy and activities for the New York geographic market, including the Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) program, in support of achieving the region’s growth objectives. The marketing manager must understand both the priorities of the business and the needs of the market to provide leadership in developing and executing the marketing strategy – including developing/planning/coordinating market-facing events, campaigns and programs that align with the firm’s strategy across industries and services lines. This includes the annual Entrepreneur of the Year program which creates high-level relationship-building opportunities to enhance EY’s image with the leaders of today's best entrepreneurial companies. In working with the leadership of both the geographic market and the Northeast Brand, Marketing & Communications team, the marketing manager is responsible for executing initiatives such as brand management, client events, key brand sponsorships, demand generation campaigns, communications, and large-scale firm hosted events. This role requires an experienced and resilient team player with a strong understanding of effective marketing strategies. The role will be required to build strong relationships and collaborate closely with New York leadership as well as relevant business development and client-serving professionals. You'll work independently on certain activities, receiving general direction rather than direct supervision and will work closely with the go-to-market leader and the BMC leader. Job Responsibilities:
  • Work in conjunction with the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) and geographic market leader to develop the marketing strategy, manage the marketing budget, and track the return on investment (ROI) of marketing activity
  • Serve as a strategic marketing advisor by identifying opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and highlight thought leadership through speaking opportunities, sponsorships, firm-hosted events, networks and community/civic relationships
  • Oversee all events, mailings, newsletters, media, PR, and sponsorships, and confirm that they align with the overall Region strategy
  • Develop, identify and leverage relevant marketing materials
  • Collaborate with the network of marketing and communications people at the Regional and Global levels; provide guidance, information and support to enable successful deployment of relevant programs
  • Oversees planning and execution of all aspects of year-round EOY program, encompassing a large geographic area
  • Own external relationships key to the coordination of EOY program. Responsible for all communications, meetings and events for both EOY and Strategic Growth Forum
  • Experience with both program sponsor retention and new sponsor pipe line, including identifying new sponsor prospects, maintaining contact with existing sponsors, creating EY and sponsor target lists, and sponsor benefit offerings. Takes the lead in closing new sponsorship opportunities
  • Manage, track and monitor both general marketing and specific EOY expenditures to operate within budget and monitor return on investment
  • Project-manages and leads other team members (ie. M&ES, CSG and various other groups) with vendor and venue selection and other program logistical needs, including staffing receptions and other external marketing events to ensure their success
  • Facilitate the identification of all prospective nominees for each EOY program and guides targeting activities to ensure timely submission of applications
  • Facilitate training sessions and program communication throughout program life cycle with internal teams, judges and sponsors
  • Identifies and confirms the regional EOY judging panel which consists of CEOs and local business leaders
  • Defines needs and business opportunities for EOY – including assignment of relationship owners, follow-up for events, thought leadership distribution, EOY online community, and EOY alumni events
  • Develop the marketing plan to execute appropriate follow-up process with key EOY targets post-event program
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on BMC issues, trends and long-term implications for EY’s brand strategy generally and its go-to-market approach in particular
  • Understand and effectively use EY technology to support marketing programs, track involvement and communicate consistently with both internal and external audiences
  • In addition to comprehensively managing the market activities, there will be times where marketing managers will be asked to assist with other marketing programs that are critical to supporting GTM efforts across service lines and buyer programs
To qualify, candidates must have:
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of EY’s business, clients’ issues and buyers’ agendas across market segments and geographies regionally
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the market segment; create, launch and manage marketing programs that help us achieve our objectives
  • Show initiative, coupled with accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrate reliability
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, including the ability to manage several projects concurrently; demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with C-level executives and business leaders and their teams
  • Demonstrate excellent communications and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within the organization, including regional and global leadership
  • Strategic marketing background that demonstrates a high level of understanding and application of marketing principles and full lifecycle program/event management
  • Provides guidance to team members, including leadership
  • A minimum of 6-8 years marketing and program management or equivalent experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Considerable experience in B2B marketing and/or professional services
  • Large scale event strategy and planning experience
  • Proven ability to manage complex processes and/or projects
  • Outstanding communications and writing abilities
