Manager, Strategic Initiatives - Individual Solutions Group

About the position

This position reports to the Group Operations, ISG. The selected candidate will be part of a highly collaborative team responsible for accelerating the delivery of strategic initiatives across ISG, Annuities and ILI support for the growth opportunities identified through our U.S. strategy work. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. The ISG Group Operations Organization is seeking a unique and intellectually curious individual who is both self-driven and effective operating in a team structure. As part of this role you’ll work within a team and alongside colleagues across ISG, ILI and Annuities to build the Group Operations organization, initially focused on:
  • Support the Program Management for the ISG growth initiatives working closely with the initiative owners, leveraging an agile approach to drive outcomes and foster new ideas
  • Perform secondary research and analysis to understand organizational needs and impediments and offer solutions to address needs or resolve impediments
  • Support process analysis, design or redesign of integrated work flows and processes to ensure that processes are customer (end-user) centric, responsive, consistent, and scalable
  • Work collaboratively with partners within ILI and Annuities and enabling enterprise functions to integrate common processes and tools for operational planning
  • Incorporate design thinking and agile based concepts into practice, leveraging the existing approach and frameworks
  • May partner with Annuities and ILI to support the efforts with Real Estate to advance a location strategy on behalf of ISG
  • Deepen and strengthen key partnerships, building trusted relationships
Qualifications You should be able to demonstrate:
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop cohesive solutions in complex, unstructured environments
  • Sound judgement and intelligent risk taking
  • Ability to work in a flat, peer based team
  • Experience partnering at all levels through a combination of strong verbal and written communication skills, savvy navigation of complex business structures
  • Significant organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
  • An innovation mindset with a willingness to challenge existing design and service paradigms
  • Proven track record for successfully leading programs/projects to completion
  • Balanced style, positive mindset, active listener
  • Experience working in an agile style, and applying design thinking to problem solving
  • Experience in Annuities and/or Life Insurance is a plus
  • Experience with operational budgeting a plus
