Manager, Sales Engineering – Spectrum Enterprise

The Highlights

The Spectrum Enterprise Sales Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the Engineering team supporting technical pre-sale activities. This role requires an accomplished technical professional with experience and knowledge of service provider solutions, as well as the demands of enterprise markets for services and connectivity. The position will focus on showing prospective clients how Spectrum Enterprise’s innovative solutions will help satisfy their growing complex technology and communications needs today and in the future.

What You Will Do
  • Lead sales engineering team focused on fiber, networking, voice, and cloud services
  • Work in conjunction with product development, sales, and operations teams
  • Recruit talented team members to support revenue opportunities and goals
  • Train and coach account team members
  • Evaluate engineering team performance and assign projects accordingly
  • Utilize hands-on team development and monitoring activities to drive excellence
  • Ensure sales, operations, and engineering process integrity
  • Act as liaison and escalation point for pre-sale and post-sale issues
  • Create and deliver technical sales proposals, aligning with client needs
  • Negotiate contracts and conversations with C-Level executives and decision makers
  • Maintain industry knowledge and awareness of emerging technology trends
  • Identify customer and capital requirements, as well as strategic opportunities
  • Perform other duties as needed, including attending trainings and meetings
Required Keys for Success
  • 2-5 years of sales management related in the telecommunications field
  • 5+ years of combined experence in technology management, network design, project management, or sales engineering
  • Familiarity with the sales cycle and competing technologies
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IP VPN, MPLS, VPLS, Ethernet, SONET, and DWDM
  • Familiar with networking including routers, switches, LAN, MAN, WAN, DS3, OC-x, CSU/DSU and CPE
  • Experience with routing protocols and emerging technologies
  • Extensive voice networking experience including VoIP, signaling protocols, and PBX
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Visio
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills

Your Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
  • MEF, CCNP, CCIP or CCIE certification (preferred)
