Posting Job Description What part will you play?
Warner Bros. Pictures seeks a Manager, Post Production Technology for the Post Production department. The Manager, Data & Technology organizes vital production and post production information and workflows.  Works with productions and vendor partners to ensure collaborative infrastructure for post workflows.  Liaison with post production teams to assist in scheduling delivery of assets to archive, maintaining accurate data management, inventory and security.
  • Manages the creation of high dynamic ratio (HDR) masters for delivery to Warner Home Entertainment.
  • Participates in the final QC process of new theatrical titles (including 2D, 3D, DCP, HDR, IMAX, and Screen X) to name a few.
  • Sets up cutting rooms at WB and on location including setting up secure networks.
  • Manages all Aspera post production and VFX work groups accounts.
  • Collects all workflow specs data information related to our films, including metadata that describes how large the picture is, the color depth, the image resolution, when the image was created and other data.  Examples include cameras used, resolution, native bit depth, camera/grading/viewing look up tables, Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) workflow, SFX capture, shoot perimeters, open gate, data management, camera capture, multiple media capture, versions (territories, where applicable), graphics, etc.
  • Manages security safeguards practices to productions for receipt of all delivery requirement elements including inventory, loss of shipments against anti-piracy or physical damage.
  • Maintains and keeps the official delivery schedule up-to-date with changing technology and Warner Bros. requirements
  • Assists the VP, Assets & Technology, in developing and implementing a strategic plan for the future use of technology by maintaining a high level of awareness and involvement with technology vendors and individuals.  
  • Assists the VP Assets & Technology with managing technical aspects of dailies to be delivered to the studio for viewing by executives. Manages all Pix accounts.
  • Manages the delivery of new titles to Feature Post Prod. film/digital picture and sound elements for after-release use, such as HDR mastering for WB Home Entertainment and ancillary TV/Airline markets etc.  
  • In conjunction with the VP Assets & Technology, manages all technical operations of Feature Post Production including testing, research and purchase of all equipment necessary for the department’s operation.
  • Responsible for technical maintenance, configuration and support of software and systems for media review both on and off-lot. Works to ensure a smooth and robust dailies process.
  • Liaison with productions and internal Network, Sound and Picture facility groups and external vendors to ensure good workflow for production & post production when needed.  
  • Liaison with post production teams to assist in scheduling delivery of physical production assets to archive, maintaining accurate inventory and security.
  • Maintains and analyzes vendor bids. Tracks invoices and creates Purchase Orders as needed.
  • Assists in the acceptance of delivery items as required by studio.
  • As directed by the VP Assets and Technology, researches new vendor and pipeline options. Prepares reports and presentations as requested.
  • Manages special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What do we require from you?
  • College degree preferred or additional production certificate programs.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in medium to high budget studio, network or high-volume production or post production company.
  • Knowledge of post production workflows.
  • Familiarity with production and post software such as Shotgun, Pix, as well as newer cloud platforms such as EC2, Rackspace Open Cloud, etc. helpful.
  • Knowledge of IT network configuration and data management.
  • Working knowledge of outside digital vendors including labs and DI facilities.
  • Knowledge of post production delivery and archive practices.
  • Familiarity with the current trends and workflows for HDR.
  • Familiarity with VFX pipelines and technology.
  • Proficient in digital dailies delivery tools and production tools.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel, in person and on the telephone.
  • Must have good analytical skills and be detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively.
  • Must have the ability to work well under time constraints in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, when necessary.
  • Ability to respond after hours for important, timely or urgent matters.
  • Team player who operates in a fast-paced team.
  • Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly.
