Manager, Internal Communications Writer

Job Description

You’ve had jobs, but have you had impact? For over a century, IBM has been a company of inventors and innovators. If you like the idea of working on a legendary brand – the one that invented the personal computer, LASIK eye surgery, the UPC bar code, and helped put a man on the moon—then come build with us.

We are looking for a self-starting, intellectually curious person possessing gravitas to join our team as a Manager, Internal Communications Writer.

In this role, you are part of a nimble cross-functional team that produces communications in support of our corporate narrative around the world. You will drive real impact to the business while contributing to how we think about, plan, and create impactful experiences to our most important assets – our fellow IBMers!

As a seasoned writer you'll feel at home as you draft, shape, and steer corporate messaging and other enterprise-wide initiatives through myriad employee channels. From crafting speeches to blogs to video scripts, you will be the conduit between executives to internal audiences, as well as a key contributor to broader IBMer communications that tell the story of who we are, what we do and what we stand for.

If you are someone who is willing to learn new things, stretch yourself, and share the load with colleagues when needed
let's talk.

  • Engage with executives, communications colleagues, researchers and content owners across the enterprise to develop speeches, blogs, tweets, and other internal communications vehicles to reach all IBMers.

  • Turn complex subject matter related to IBM innovations into compelling copy that informs and educates employees about the strategy, the company’s investments and each IBMers’ role in delivering results.

Location: Astor Place, NYC. Please note we are not able to offer relocation assistance.

This role requires the ability to work in the U.S. without current or future need for IBM sponsorship.
