Prudential International Insurance (PII) manufactures and distributes individual life insurance, retirement and related products to the mass affluent and affluent markets through our Life Planner operations

PII has operations in eleven countries around the world (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Indonesia, Poland, and Italy) and is looking to fill an HR Manager position based in Newark, New Jersey.

Reporting to the Regional HR Business Partner for Europe, Latin America and Africa, the Manager, Human Resources is an individual contributor and member of the PII HR team based in Newark. This role will actively support business leaders in the areas of Talent Management, Organizational Design, Change Management and Business Partnering. The Manager, Human Resources also works closely with in-country HR colleagues and various Newark stakeholders to provide HR support in line with business goals and objectives. The Manager, Human Resources is also responsible for supporting both regional and PII – wide projects and initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Regional HR Business Partner to deploy HR strategy in support of local Business leaders and local HR to drive the achievement of business objectives in the following areas: organizational design, succession planning, career management, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Work closely with the Regional HR Business Partner, and the Centers of Expertise partners to diagnose, design and implement solutions in the operating companies
  • Consult Country HR leaders and support in follow through on employee engagement survey action plans. Support preparing and implementing new employee engagement survey tool
  • Monitor and support change management progress of employee engagement survey initiatives in regions and countries
  • Consult in the development of effective strategies to enable the organization to thrive and sustain through periods of change and integration
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition department regarding the hiring process from job posting to offer, and facilitate on-boarding for PII Regional Newark new hires
  • Support PII Regional HR risk management initiatives and projects
  • Coordinate Regional Prudential leadership development program nominations and enrollments
  • Project manage overall compensation review process for countries and facilitate compensation process
  • Support project management of succession management process, support country HR Leaders on their succession management and review succession/talent review meeting presentations
  • Prepare and edit executive summary of succession planning/talent review presentations as needed
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives within the local countries
  • Support Human Capital Management (HCM) Solution initiative
  • Participate in PII HR projects and programs
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience HR business partner or Specialist experience in two or more of the following HR disciplines: Talent Development, Organization Effectiveness, Diversity & Inclusion, Compensation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to gain the trust of various stakeholders from different cultures and geographies and influence them
  • Strong project management capability
  • Strong team player; ability to work with others whether participating in or leading a project
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills is desirable
