Nielsen’s U.S. media account teams build strong relationships with all of the major broadcast television and cable networks in the U.S. Our Client Service Managers and Directors on these teams identify and present additional opportunities to these clients in order to help them understand their consumer viewership and behaviors across all screens.


We’re looking for a Client Service Director to build deeper and wider relationships with multiple stakeholders at one of our major television and digital clients. This person will tap into their knowledge of the client, the media industry, and Nielsen’s solutions to help them solve their key and most pressing business issues. In order to do this, they will:

  • In collaboration with other members of the team, lead the overall day-to-day relationship with the client.
  • Partner with leadership within the client vertical or team to develop a comprehensive and achievable strategic plan for their business.
  • Build presentations that capture the client’s core challenges with ad sales and digital programming, and link them with solutions Nielsen’s products can provide.
  • Pro-actively present opportunities to help clients grow their business using consultative selling and negotiation tactics.
  • Conduct client meetings (some on-site) to maintain the relationship, and address inquiries on ratings and advertising data.
  • Maintain and manage a revenue and upsell pipeline.
  • Act as an internal champion for the client by working collaboratively to coordinate efforts including case resolution management, usage reporting, contract renewals, negotiation and amendments, and other support tasks. You will also manage analytics projects and data inquiries.
  • Continuously build knowledge of Nielsen’s solutions and roadmap, and how Nielsen’s data can be used to improve business performance.
  • Attend meetings or events that are specific to the client and the media industry.
  • Manage project work and the mentoring of junior talent on the U.S. media team.


This job might be a good fit for you if:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree, and 3-5 years of client service experience and expertise in the national broadcast and cable television and digital media industries. Prior experience and/or knowledge of Nielsen’s solutions is definitely a plus.
  • You are a relationship builder who can provide a great experience for our clients and can collaborate with internal senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • You are an engaging storyteller who is comfortable presenting media analytics and making recommendations that will help our clients understand and grow their consumer viewership.
  • You are excited about working with a diverse customer base and multiple internal teams.
  • You are detail-oriented, data driven, and skilled in interpersonal communication, multitasking, persuasion and negotiation tactics. You are also a pro at Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint. Work with Google programs (Sheets, DOCS and Slides) a definite plus.
  • You are a strong leader who can develop and motivate junior staff.
