Dealertrack, a Cox Automotive Brand, is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician II to join our Building Operations team in North Hills, NYJob Summary:Cox Automotive seeks a Building Maintenance Technician II.  Under the direction of the Manager, Building Engineering, will oversee the maintenance and operation of routine building maintenance tasks.  Building maintenance tasks will be in all fields including but not limited to all MEP systems, grounds, carpentry, cleaning, HVAC, contractor service providers and staff to ensure safe, uninterrupted services.
Your Role:
  • Manage a safe, uninterrupted operation and maintenance of the facility including all building systems, directly or with staff and contract service providers.
  • Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet.
  • Performs electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and LED’s and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
  • Performs painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on dish washers and similar devices, etc.).
  • Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
  • Continuously monitor and provide a professional, clean appearance in the exterior and interior common areas of the building which is consistent with comparable buildings in the city.  Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots, and other work areas.
  • Responsible for all required building inspections, fire and life safety compliance, OSHA requirements, and written contingency plans, PM schedules.  Documentation for all to be provided to the Manager, Building Engineering.
  • Provide clear verbal and written communication with Manager, Building Engineering regarding all property issues in a timely manner.
  • Execute all policies and projects as directed by the Manager, Building Engineering along with written documentation.
  • Maintain relationships with appropriate internal stakeholders and stakeholder groups to be knowledgeable with current operational issues affecting the building.
  • Provide invoice / contract work back up to Manager, Building Engineering for invoicing purposes.
  • Maintain stock of maintenance supplies and storage rooms in an organized, efficient manner.
  • Respond to all emergencies 24/7 and provide written reports to Manager, Building Engineering.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.


What We Look For: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; preferably with knowledge in building maintenance or relevant completion of an accredited trade school.
  • 2-5 Years’ experience as a facilities maintenance technician or related field.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Computer ability in Word and Excel for budgeting, work order system and Preventive Maintenance programs. 
  • Familiar with construction drawings/blueprints; ability to oversee building improvement projects.
  • Ability to traverse stairs, climb ladders, lift 50lbs and physically able to walk entire property on a regular basis or daily.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, owners, contractors and visitors.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor under all circumstances.
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools.
