Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

Our SBA (Small Business Administration) Lending Team has an exciting opportunity for a talented, highly motivated leader for the position of Loan Administration Manager 2 located in Roseville, California.   This environment is exciting, collaborative, and requires a person of high energy, and quick decision making ability.

This individual will be responsible for managing the loan closing unit for the SBA Lending line of business.  SBA Lending is part of the Business Banking Group within Wholesale Banking.  As a whole, SBA is responsible for the production, management and servicing of a $10B+ portfolio of government guaranteed SBA 7(A) loans and 504 real estate loans.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing 4-8 team members within the Roseville hub
  • Coaching, recruitment and hiring of new team members
  • Writing of performance plans and reviews
  • Actively managing a fast paced production closing team to meet required Service Level Agreements on turn times
  • Actively manage a robust (internal and external) customer service platform with emphasis on speed and professional interaction with all customers
  • Reviewing work quality and loan/file assignments on a daily basis
  • Driving team member’s productivity
  • Oversight of General Ledger accounts, including daily and monthly balancing and reconciliation
  • Conducting daily audits of loan files
  • Ensuring that all procedures are in compliance with government regulations and bank policies
  • Works closely with the SBA Lending’s Regional Sales Managers, Lending Managers, underwriting teams, sales teams and closing teams as well as multiple internal WF business partners throughout the company

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.


Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: customer service, loan administration, collections, or sales environment
  • 1+ year of management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
  • Experience in an operations support area that handles scheduling, staffing, planning, and administration
  • Ability to achieve high production and quality standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of CRM, Small Business Administration products, or Credit Origination systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of real estate or commercial loans
  • Knowledge and understanding of Small Business Administration (SBA) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Policies
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze financial metrics
