Lead Technical Application Analyst

Team Lead Summary

The Technical Services Group (TSG) is made up of a team of roughly 10 to 15 Technical Application Analysts and Technical Support Advisors. This TSG team in particular supports the ADP Multinational Client (MNC) business unit with regards to the ADP Time and Attendance application. The Team Lead for this team will report to the Tech Services Manager and assist them in supervising the team. The Team Lead will need to be familiar with standard troubleshooting methodology for web based applications in order to understand the analysts and to act as a liaison for them with other groups within ADP, the development team, and even directly with clients when needed. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the performance of the team meets the set expectations and for addressing performance concerns raised by internal partners or at times even by the manager. The Team Lead will be expected to fill in for basic manager responsibilities when the manager is not present. The Team Lead will need to be able to be contacted outside of normal working hours in case a critical issue occurs and the analyst on call requires direction or connection with other resources. The Team Lead is expected to be able to coordinate team tasks and functions for the entire team as needed.

Essential Duties for a Technical Analyst Team Lead

  • Team Lead oversees the team of analysts and helps to navigate roadblocks including communication barriers, lack of knowledge or resources, or unwarranted resistance from other parties needed to address the issue.
  • Team Lead monitors quality through Service Request evaluations and other tools to make recommendations to enhance the client experience.
  • Team Lead should review and approve knowledgebase entries of lower level analysts.
  • Team Lead should formulate, prioritize and submit incident/enhancement requests and application modification recommendations to Product Development for prioritization and deployment in future releases. Review and provide recommendations and feedback on maintenance release content, product documentation, business design reviews. Manage the requests and delivery of one off fixes to Client Services, Hosting Services, and applicable ADP clients.
  • Team Lead should monitor project work to make sure it is addressed appropriately and to make sure projects do not interfere with prioritization of critical issues.
  • Team Lead should be included on calls regarding critical clients and should help drive the momentum forward as needed by the analyst.
  • Team Lead's core responsibilities include monitoring and scheduling work assignments, providing performance feedback, and mentoring and training associates on product and/or process issues. Team Lead should work closely with the Management team to ensure associate development.

Non-Essential Duties for a Technical Analyst Team Lead

  • Team Lead performs active troubleshooting and works cases as indicated for other analysts.
  • Travel may be asked to travel both internationally and domestically on rare occasions.

Preferred Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-8 years of directly related experience in a related subject such as database administration or engineering; system administration; network administration; software application support / helpdesk experience.
  • The ability to identify and avoid potential software conflicts.
  • 1 or more years of supervising technical resources

Required Education/Skills:

  • High School Diploma
  • Thorough understanding and background in the utilization of internet based software and/or utilities, as well as workstation management and basic networking.
