POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Deployment Manager will manage the tactical aspects for our enterprise application upgrades and implementations. This role is required work 2nd and 3rd shiftwork releases on weeknights and weekends (approximately 1 to 3 times per month) and may sit in our New York City, Iselin, NJ, or Charlotte, NC offices only.

Job Knowledge and Scope

  • The Release & Deployment Manager manages all aspects of IT implementation planning for a project or suite of projects to be managed as a single bundle.

Job Complexity

  • The position requires the learning of a base of technological knowledge and concepts of the company's complex technical environment, (i.e. interdependencies of software applications and platforms). It requires the ability to work with large, cross-disciplinary teams and to ability to make quick decisions under duress (leading up to and during weekend overnight releases). These decisions may have impact on the company's ability to function normally and client's ability to access systems and financials.

Interaction

  • This position will interact frequently with team members and representatives within the Technology Group
  • This position and will work closely with internal business customers to understand business/project needs
  • This position will not manage employees directly but will be required to build effective and professional relationships with team members and key business partners

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Oversees and facilitates the coordination of IT release & deployment planning.
  • Supports the communication of IT implementation project milestones and guides project teams as needed.
  • Provides detailed planning, manages issues, risks, and resources of work being done to fulfill implementation requirements
  • Ensures IT implementation related tasks are integrated into project plans.
  • Integrates IT implementation plans from multiple projects of high complexity into a master plan.
  • Identifies any issues or risks associated with one or more IT implementation projects, developing and implementing mitigation strategies for timely resolution.
  • Works with project managers, technical leads, program managers, business users, and at times senior leadership to align IT implementation requirements with program goals.
  • Coordinates staff to manage the IT implementation aspects of a project portfolio of high complexity.
  • Manages a large volume of highly complex implementations.
  • Coordinates execution of master IT implementation plans through all aspects of implementation, including 'go live' phase.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7 or more years of IT project management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Financial Services industry experience

Desired Skills:

  • 10 or more years of IT project management experience, preferably within Deployment and/ or Release Management
  • Project Management Professional, Six Sigma, ITIL Foundation or ITIL Release, Control & Validation.
  • A critical thinker, quick to recognize and decide the most effective course of action in a complex, changing environment will succeed.
  • Strong ability to identify and analyze technical objectives, needs, and scope, dissecting complex problems and suggesting process-oriented solutions.
  • Hands-on implementation or project management efforts with multiple technology platforms/domain, (such as Cloud).
  • Knowledge of DevOps, release, & deployment tools such as Serena, Nolio, Artifactory, Jenkins, Electric Cloud, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail is an extreme necessity in this role.
