IT Advisory Senior, Financial Services, Regulatory Compliance – Analytics

The opportunity

You’ll focus on technology improvement in a broad range of compliance areas, helping global financial services firms with their strategic enhancements of IT systems or operational processes, remediation of data quality issues, regulatory issues and findings.

Your key responsibilities

You’ll have practical experience in developing optimization functions, building predictive models or automating processes through the use of analytics, and who possess experience in the practical application of techniques such as: supervised and unsupervised machine learning, neural networks, text analytics, natural language processing, image recognition and artificial intelligence.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
  • Pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills
  • Able to apply data mining techniques, perform statistical analysis, and build high quality predictive systems involved in running analytical experiments in a methodical manner
  • Able to regularly evaluate alternate models via theoretical approaches
  • Possess an understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naïve-Bayes, SVM, decision trees, random forests, etc.
  • Possess documentation skills (BRD/FRD), and able to document client inputs, analysis, findings etc.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor's degree in statistics, data analytics, computer science, mathematics, engineering or applied sciences.
  • Proficiency in one of the following languages is recommended: R, SAS, Python, PMML, STATA, or SPSS
  • A foundation in one or more of the following database management systems is preferred: Pl/SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Cassandra

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience working with visualization tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, and Qlikview
  • Experience in working with one or more technology platforms in the financial services compliance or financial crime domains, including but not limited to the following: Mantas, Actimize, SAS AML, NetReveal, Fircosoft, Norkom, SMARTS, LexisNexis
  • Additional experience with Java, C# or other programming
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner Certification (CFEC)
