Investment Associate

About the position

The success of QMA is a function of a number of factors, including the firm’s leading-edge quantitative portfolio management capabilities. The portfolio management team is responsible for stock selection and portfolio construction research with direct accountability for portfolio performance. We are looking to hire a Quantitative Analyst to with work with the Portfolio Management Teams. The candidate should have strong technical skills, a passion for investments, and the ability to work both independently and part of a team. Responsibilities
  • Provide analytic and programming support for portfolio management and investment-related research
  • Assist in developing and implementation of research projects.
  • Participate in QMA research seminars
  • Assist Portfolio Managers with implementation and execution of all dimensions of the investment process, including cashflow management, portfolio optimization, corporate actions, proxy voting
  • Provide analytic support for client-related presentations and research
  • Develop and maintain performance attribution reports for investment portfolios. Assist in the development of written pieces explaining relative performance to clients
  • Develop and maintain risk management reports for portfolio management
  • Participate in internal and external investment meetings
  • One to three years work experience in a related field is desirable, but not required
  • Individual should have an MBA or a Masters in Finance or Economics
  • CFA designation, or interest in pursuing is desired
  • Strong evidence of outstanding academic achievement, and strong foundation in investments, economics, and statistics
  • Quantitative and programming skills (Linux, R, Python, VB)
  • Experience with Factset and/or Bloomberg
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Most importantly, strong attention to detail is required
