Corporate Risk

Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Head of Reputation Risk Oversight

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Reputation Risk Oversight program team. The Head of Reputation Risk Oversight is responsible for leading the development and implementation of key processes to advance and increase the effectiveness of the Reputation Risk Oversight function. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to collaborate, experience building trust through relationships, and a solid track record of credibly challenging or influencing key internal partners while cultivating strong partnerships to drive results. The candidate must have experience leading strategic projects with cross-functional partners as well as a proven ability to work with highly confidential information. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate an understanding of best practices in reputation risk identification, assessment and management.

This position will report to the Head of Strategic Enterprise Risk Management and will lead a relatively new team responsible for Independent Risk Management for reputation risk.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of implementation of Wells Fargo’s first Reputation Risk Policy, including Reputation Risk Event Escalation Program
  • Integration of reputation risk into Enterprise Risk Programs including Enterprise Risk Identification, Enterprise Risk Appetite Program, Risk Assessment of New Business Initiatives, Issues Management, Enterprise Event Escalation, and others
  • Integration of reputation risk into capital planning and stress testing, Targeted Aggregate Risk Analysis and Corporate Strategic Transaction
  • Development of technology solutions to track reputation risks according to policy requirements
  • Alignment of governance, strategy and program with Target Operating State (TOS)
  • Development of the data and analytics program
  • Development and execution of initiatives to increase team member awareness and understanding of reputation risk
  • Development of reputation risk reporting to senior leaders, the Board and regulators 
  • Management of closure of open audit issues and corrective actions 
  • Demonstration of an effective Independent Risk Management function for reputation risk

Preferred locations include San Francisco, CA; Minneapolis, MN; Charlotte, NC; Des Moines, IA; other major WF hubs may be considered

 

 



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, risk, or audit
  • 5+ years of management experience



Desired Qualifications

  • 8+ years of program management experience
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Experience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reporting
  • Ability to work across multiple lines of business leading large scale initiatives
  • Experience in problem analysis, solution implementation, and change management
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Strategic planning experience
  • Experience designing an effective control environment
  • Experience engaging with external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge with multiple risk disciplines and key risk types. Can include but not limited to reputation, regulatory & compliance, conduct, implementation, product/service, third party, market etc.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
