The office serves as home to Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health and Animal Health, as well as our pivotal business and administrative service function. Our Crop Science business is based in Cambridge and our Ireland businesses are based in Dublin. Job Summary: The Head of Procurement is a senior leadership role representing the UKIE region, accountable to drive procurement excellence in terms of strategy, performance management innovation and people development. Your challenge: As Head of Procurement UK and Ireland you will be responsible for successfully leading the organization towards increased and sustainable sourcing effectiveness and process efficiency which will support the business growth strategy. We are looking for an innovative leader who has the ability to influence the team and senior stakeholders in the business. With your demonstrated experience of transformation within a similar function you will drive change and become the liaison between local divisional needs and the Procurement Business Partnering organization. You will be accountable for all procurement activities in UKIE and delivery of required business performance. This role presents the opportunity to achieve noticeable results within the local organisation and business. This exciting position will report into Head of Business Services and is member of the CFO Leadership Team Your Tasks and Responsibilities: • Provides leadership and coordination for all procurement activities in UKIE to deliver required business performance. • Familiar with the key processes, functions and guidelines at all Bayer levels and ensures they are taken into account at country level. • Acts in partnership and alignment with the global Procurement network and is accountable for the following activities: – Define and clearly communicate vision and objectives of a future state Procurement organization in UKIE – Drives and manages significant changes that come with the New Bayer transition and the iPSE roll-out. – Adjust the set-up of the centralized Procurement by consolidating other country teams. Build and maintain an agile organization, reduce organizational complexity and avoid redundancies in processes and standards by applying new ways of working. – Standardize the way of working, processes, tools and practices in Procurement across all teams in order to offer a high and consistent level of service to the internal stakeholders. • Delivers on Procurement’s value proposition in UKIE by building a best-in-class Procurement country/site organization in multiple dimensions: – Leverage UKIE’s portfolio in negotiations to achieve most competitive results. – Bring supply market intelligence to business decisions. – Leverage supplier product and process innovation along the value chain. – Reduce and avoid expenditure. – Mitigate supply risks. – Deliver day-to-day services, resolve operational issues. – Engage with global Business Partner organizations in the creation and subsequent deployment of global category strategies. – Convey, live and provide guidance regarding the Bayer LIFE values and “One Team” spirit. – Selection, development and retention and performance management of country/site Procurement personnel. – Enhance country/site organization team performance outcome by fostering a team culture where Procurement professionals can grow and sustain their creative and innovative spirit while staying energized and motivated. Actively support diversity and inclusion as key enabler to company’s success. – Ensure sustainability and compliance in Procurement. – Act as internal consultant. – Develop repor .pre {white-space: pre-wrap;} Who you are • Relevant university degree or equivalent • (7 - 10) years of relevant experience in (Procurement) leadership positions, preferably from multi-national companies; strong procurement experience or knowledge of procurement related business processes • A track record of success in complex stakeholder settings • Excellent communication and influencing skills to successful partner to drive objectives at this position • Experience in leading and working in “virtual” teams and communities • Strong leadership capabilities / ability to lead change • Analytic decision making and creative thinking skills • High proficiency level in English and country language • Team-oriented leadership skills through experience with senior management • Good understanding of business needs & challenges • Strong collaboration skills in diverse and high-performing teams • Excellent communication strategy and messaging skills with the ability to build long term partnerships • Strong negotiation, communication, influencing and problem solving skills .pre {white-space: pre-wrap;} Your application At Bayer you have the opportunity to be part of a culture where we value the passion of our employees to innovate and give them the power to change.
