Head of Medical Information and Insights

To Shape and deliver the Strategy for how Medical Information, competitor and customer insights contribute to the overall company strategy, individual functions and product teams. Overseeing the resourcing and provision of medical information to respond to customer enquiries, deliver product training and input to MSL Medical Information Matrix Management so that the highest standards, measurable and customer happiness is achieved. Ensure that specialist product knowledge and Medical customer insights are identified and provided to the benefit of the company. Developing processes for insight generation and knowledge management, and responsibility for the dissemination of medical insights to the relevant parts of the organization.


- Continuously review and evaluate Medical information strategy and operations to ensure that the function is fit for purpose and able to meet future challenges

- Represent Medical Information (MI) to the UK teams and challenge internal partners so that medical information contributions and needs taken on board by the business and the function contribution is maximised

- Manage medical information team day to day activities including: rota management, enquiry and phone work distribution, product responsibilities, and HR needs e.g. performance management and holiday agreements

- Continually evaluate MI Processes and Procedures to identify and deliver Medical Information Process Excellence: including new and appropriate SOPs and supporting documentation. Writing of these SOPs in conjunction with other members of the team.

- Continuously improve the service levels and customer care provided by the MI team by actively seeking and acting upon customer feedback and by benchmarking against competitors

- You will identify team training needs on a monthly basis to ensure the timely reporting of adverse events and quality complaints

- You will be responsible for planning and delivering cross functional business intelligence and insight generation as inputs to overall business strategy.

- Including the consolidation and evaluation of insights from Med Info requests, MSL Insights and the active monitoring of competitor materials

- Leading change management and implementation for global/regional projects that impact on customer insights and Medical Information.

- Contribute to multichannel initiatives and cross functional projects including Medical Education events

- Strong engagement & communication abilities

- 4 years more experience in industry.

- Experience in a Pharmaceutical business with a range of non-therapeutic medical departments?
