Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

Senior level credit sales manager responsible for the distribution of high grade corporate bonds, preferred stock and credit default swaps to Tier 1 institutional clients. Individual will have manager responsibility for sales teams in Charlotte, NY, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Developing strong relationships and maintaining daily dialogue with investor base
  • Proactively providing ideas, research, market information, etc., to facilitate trading activity between Wells Fargo and our customers
  • Actively engaging the trading desk and their axes to facilitate trading between Wells Fargo and our customers
  • Coordinating with internal partners, including other sales people, traders, research, syndicate and management to enhance client relationships

Manager Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic plan of sales team
  • Manage and determine client coverage
  • Act as Supervisory Principal of sales team

This position is subject to Dodd-Frank Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to a new screen to comply with Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act 17, CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Under CFTC regulations, an AP is defined as a: Under industry regulations, an AP is defined as a team member who solicits or accepts client orders for swaps. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in capital markets, industry experience within the specific sector of the position, or a combination of both
  • 7+ years of management experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • The credit sales manager candidate should have a minimum of 10+ years' experience with a background that includes institutional sales, institutional investing or other relevant capital markets experience in the high grade credit markets at a bank, corporate trading desk or investing client
  • Candidate needs to possess exceptional credit knowledge
  • Candidate must have strong analytical skills, financial modeling, and an understanding of all credit products
  • Candidate has to have established relationships with high grade credit markets buy-side clients
  • Candidate needs to be organized, affable, and able to work in a collegial, team-oriented environment
  • Candidate needs to be self-motivated possess exceptional communication skills
  • Bloomberg proficiency
  • Series 7, 24 and 63
