The Business Technology Services (BTS) team within the Media Technology & Information Services (MTIS) group at HBO is responsible for the build and support of vital technology solutions supporting the scheduling, acquisition, processing, and distribution of HBO content.  The team is a fundamental part of HBO’s innovation and successful Technology team in New York City, Santa Monica and Seattle. The team partners with various business units to enable the services required to deliver HBO’s premium content to domestic and global platforms as well as third party partners by bringing together platform, software, data and business intelligence services.
The team is looking to add a highly motivated, experienced hands-on Technical Lead who will focus on Data Integration. We are looking for someone who is self-driven and thrives working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that operates on collaboration and partnership with all business stakeholders. Working within an agile environment, the individual will be responsible for architecting, implementing and supporting scalable, well performing, cohesive and integrated data integration processes. The individual should have expert-level knowledge of Informatica components as well as cloud-based ETL/ELT using modern data integration platforms like Snaplogic. The individual will have the opportunity to mature our cloud-based integration capability as part of the new data and analytics platform being established on AWS. 
This position will be based in New York City and will report to the Manager of Solution Engineering.



  • Interface with business and technology partners to understand and analyze business and functional requirements.

  • Interface with project leads on assessing the integration work, building effort estimates, defining milestones and managing delivery of data integration work products.

  • Produce and maintain relevant artifacts such as System Solution Design and Technical architecture blueprints.

  • Conduct design and code reviews with peers, business analysts and QA teams.

  • Work with the development team (onshore/offshore) to implement the solution and if needed, be hands-on as a developer.

  • Participate during System/Integration/UAT testing and provide timely and accurate defect resolution.

  • Guide, mentor and train talent to create and implement innovative high quality solutions.

  • Provide off-hour support when needed.


  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience preferred

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing data Integration processes using Informatica components like PowerCenter, Web services, HA grid, Metadata manager, Data Quality, Data Validation, PowerExchange/CDC and Data Analyzer on UNIX and Linux servers.

  • 3+ years of experience developing ETL/ELT solutions on the cloud using modern data integration platforms/tools like Snaplogic, Talend, etc.

  • 2+ years of experience in Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL) plus experience building integrations for Big Data and project management experience preferably using agile/scrum-based methodology.

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills to clearly express and communicate concepts, designs and proposals.

  • Experience of building data pipelines on AWS platform is highly desirable.

  • Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment.

  • Self-starter with ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being proactive in keeping stakeholders informed of project related issues.
