HBO Sr Paralegal

HBO Sr. Paralegal will assist Senior VP & Senior Counsel International and Senior VP & Senior Counsel, Programming in all day-to-day corporate and commercial matters relating to HBO’s businesses in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America, and other businesses internationally.  

  • Maintain HBO international contract files, corporate records in U.S. and foreign jurisdictions and related databases.

  • Oversee and implement document retention policies and coordinate various legal and administrative requests from local staff and general counsels for HBO’s foreign businesses.

  • Draft and file basic corporate governance documents (board resolutions, powers of attorney, notices of meeting, etc.) and organize occasional due diligence investigations.

  • Coordinate with corporate services companies on various corporate matters (including establishing new legal entities, establishing banking accounts, drafting powers of attorney, obtaining good standing certificates, registering for foreign qualifications, apostilizing documents)

  • Manage and track accounts payable for foreign legal and other vendor services using HBO’s accounting systems

  • Assist in creation and distribution of legal documents, including initial drafts of NDAs, SOWs and other form agreements, supervising and proofreading document revisions in coordination with word processing, preparing working group lists and covering memoranda, arranging hard-copy and email distributions, and maintaining chronological attorney work files for various ongoing matters.

  • Interface with senior management and staff of the HBO International business units in New York, Latin America, Central Europe and Asia and corporate attorneys and paralegals at Warner Media.


  • Bachelor’s degree required and at least five (5) years of distinguished service and experience as a paralegal in the corporate/commercial department of a major multinational law firm or an in-house corporate legal department.

  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, experience drafting commercial contracts and organizational documents, and a strong understanding of corporate transactions, entities, structures and practice in a corporate/commercial legal environment.

  • Proficiency in one or more foreign languages a plus.

  • Must have strong skills in Microsoft Word.

  • Must train in and use HBO’s corporate database and other office systems, including accounting and digital assets management software. Skills in one or more document management systems (Windows Explorer DM; Sharepoint) desired.
