HBO Senior Product Manager


This Senior Product Manager position is part of HBO’s Digital Products department.  HBO Digital Products works to develop, release, and grow the company’s web properties & applications to further expand and enhance HBO’s digital properties, including,, and the streaming services HBO GO, MAX GO and HBO NOW. 

This role has a strong Business Analyst focus and uniquely situated in the Product team within the Digital Products department. This position reports directly to the Director of Product Management for HBO Digital Products. 

The Sr Product Manager for Data and Analytics will work directly with members of the Digital Products team, as well as HBO’s IT and Customer Insights and Analytics teams, to identify user needs and requirements as they pertain to digital data. The Sr Product manager will be responsible for understanding current data capture, end to end tools, systems and analytics packages (dashboards, visualizations, reports. They will seek to identify and understand user needs and issues, and document requirements. 

We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of leading teams to identify unique market and consumer requirements, with experience in digital products portfolio management. A successful candidate must be detail oriented, collaborative, and able to help support a product strategy and roadmap with up to a 6 month horizon.  They must be comfortable engaging with peers to communicate and prioritize product portfolio strategy effectively and must be adaptable in a fast-paced environment. 

 • Define the KPIs most relevant to success and ensure each KPI is tracked • Operationalize the sharing of information within and external to DP, in the form of reports, dashboards, etc.• Partner with analytics and marketing teams to identify key strategic business questions about user growth and retention • For the product portfolio, lead and oversee tasks associated with the following work:o Business case: Identify business value; recommend metrics and objectives based on business value at the product line levelo Post-launch monitoring of product ROI, business value & customer feedback: Track and recommend course corrections for portfolio line• Help define and evaluate Epic level work as it progresses through product development lifecycle, ensuring business context, success criteria and expected KPI impact is well understood, with a focus on validating proposed problems are worth solving• Partner with peers across Program Management, Design/UX, Engineering and QA 

 • 5+ years’ experience in quantitative analysis and professional experience• Prior Product experience with a focus on digital landscape, including video streaming, content distribution workflows and application development (in Media industry is a plus)• Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field preferred• Demonstrated record of intellectual curiosity driving business growth• Strong ability to work effectively cross-functionally and within a flat organization• Experience utilizing Tableau or similar platforms to capture and present data-driving analysis preferred• Prior experience working within portfolio management systems (ex: Trello)and bug tracking systems (ex: JIRA) preferred• Familiarity with SQL preferred • Highly developed organizational, planning and analytical capabilities with tactical execution• Demonstrated interpersonal and strong communication skills; written and oral• Formal and informal presentation skills in small and large group settings• Self-starter, accountable and empowered• Collaborative work style• Detail oriented• Occasional overnight travel required
