Temporary Posting Job Description OVERALL SUMMARY

This freelance Media Asset Specialist position reports to the Manager of Digitizing and Media Management and participates in various important projects currently underway within the Media Asset Specialist team.  The Media Asset Specialists are the “go-to” team for troubleshooting issues of media availability and are responsible for the archival and retrieval of content within HBO’s centralized editing environment. In addition, this team performs important maintenance activities related to storage and assists with Digitizing support as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate and resolve archive discrepancies as well as deletion of invalid and/or duplicate assets using Avid Interplay, Access, Media Composer, Front Porch Digital and other tools. 

  • Build, document and archive Avid Projects with media assets using Media Composer, Avid Interplay and Diva Front Porch

  • Filter, identify and compile a list of media assets that can be archived to long term cloud storage

  • Identify, document and communicate technical issues to Management and colleagues, escalating to Engineering as recommended by Management.

  • Work with Manager of Media Management and Digitizing to remove safely and efficiently extraneous records from database and reorganize remaining metadata as directed.

  • Assist with Manger of Digitizing and Media Management on other miscellaneous Interplay database tasks

  • Keep Management updated on the progress of all projects in progress.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Seasoned user of Avid Interplay, Interplay Access and Media Composer in multi-res, dynamic relink ISIS environment.  Highly-skilled at troubleshooting and resolving relink and other media availability issues.

  • Strong working knowledge of asset movement, storage, archival, sequencing, naming conventions, etc.

  • Incredibly detail oriented, organized with strong verbal written and verbal communication skills.  Must interact effectively with colleagues and management across all levels of the organization

  • At least two years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time wisely in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

  • Comfortable approaching new technologies and workflows.

  • Excellent client services skills.  Friendly can-do attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Post Production environment and operating production equipment
