Group Leader Material - MAN0025626

Description – Supervisea medium to large group of employees involved in maintenance of equipment andtools in an automotive stamping facility. Provide leadership for Safety,People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Work is of atechnical nature using independent judgment within the limits of generalstandards and practices. Some guidance from the supervisor is available tohandle unusual situations.

Scope of Responsibilities:

·         Responsiblefor the effective use of personnel, material and equipment.

·         Planningand scheduling for maintenance, diagnosis and repair of equipment, and tools.

·         Promotessafe work environment with proper housekeeping standards and workplaceorganization. Conducts safety talks, job instruction training, pre-taskplanning and safety incident report & investigation.

·         Provideenvironment which stimulates team member’s involvement & personal growth bymaintaining communications, soliciting suggestions, development training plan,attendance records, performance improvement, standardized work, support teammeetings, job rotation, and work with UAW to resolve problems.

·         Understandand comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements.

·         Informmanagement and others outside the work group of developments as they occur.

·         Maintainsdepartment records.

·         Maintainawareness of standards and processes, communicate department quality goals andleverage resources to solve problems. Implements problem solving processes.

·         Respond towork environment to meet production schedule.

·         Ensure costcontrol achieves budget needs.

·         EnsureGM-GMS is followed.

·         Cover otherGroup Leaders as needed

  • Ability to work with UAW skilled trades

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Work experience in Stamping operations
  • Experience with Transfer, Tandem and Progressive Press.
  • Ability to read, understand and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic prints and equipment.
  • Work experience supporting and leading facility skilled trades people in a UAW environment
  • Experience working in a UAW environment
  • Proficient in SAP
