Aligned to key industry groups including asset management, banking and capital markets, insurance and private equity, we provide integrated advisory, assurance, tax, and transaction services.

The opportunity

EY’s Financial Services Board Matters (FS Board Matters) team helps boards, committees and directors identify, understand and navigate complex global and domestic sector and regulatory risks and opportunities facing the financial services ecosystem and their individual organizations. Operating synergistically alongside EY’s Financial Services Board Matters team is the Financial Services Executive and Board Network, which drives the development of strategic, brand-enhancing programs designed to strengthen relationships with C-level executives, independent directors, market influencers, and EY alumni while enhancing the supply of diverse, qualified talent to the C-suites and boardrooms of financial services companies, spanning banking and capital markets, wealth and asset management, insurance, private equity and fintech.

The Financial Services Executive and Board Network is a uniquely dynamic practice that supports and enables C-suite and board refreshment efforts at EY clients by identifying, sourcing and introducing qualified and diverse talent through EY’s centralized Executive Referral and Board Referral programs. Additionally, the Executive and Board Network develops and brings to life insight sessions, convening events and workshops for select aspiring directors, board members and EY partners/principals on the topics of board readiness, board composition, board dynamics, and board recruitment.

The Board Network Associate Director is responsible for driving high impact and transformational initiatives, including executing and overseeing board readiness and board referral efforts in support of the Executive & Board Network go-to-market strategy across EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) in the Americas.

The Board Network Associate Director partners with the Executive and Board Network Leader, and other subject-matter experts across EY, to scale current board readiness and board referral programs in the Americas region. The Board Network Associate Director will respond to requests by EY clients (non-audit) and prospective clients seeking board of director talent and, in turn, will engage with network members to understand their aspirations, share insights and education on governance-related topics and to connect them with new commercial opportunities. This individual is responsible for project execution and delivery for a portfolio of board refreshment activities included but not limited to: identification of board-ready talent in response to market demand, large-scale project management, board composition/refreshment strategy and design/facilitation of events to connect, empower and support the next generation of independent directors.

This position works closely with executive leadership, providing thought-provoking insights to help the firm differentiate itself in the marketplace bringing solutions to identify new business opportunities and risks. This position is recognized within the firm and externally as a leader and subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities:

· Execute, scale, measure and manage board readiness and board refreshment activities

· Drive board referral and director sourcing efforts, end-to-end, with hiring managers at financial services organizations, spanning banks, capital markets participants, wealth and asset management firms, insurers, and fintechs.

· Consult with EY account teams, market segment leaders and business leadership to provide market trends and insights on board dynamics, board composition and governance; provide a big-picture perspective

· Support network members’ board readiness efforts, including board bio review/consultation, development of pitch, and advice on navigating a path to the corporate boardroom

· Assist with the design and facilitation of convening events, panel discussions, dinners and roundtable events under EY’s Women. Fast Forward and Women on Boards platform

· Leverage firm tools to measure, document, track and report on results and long-term ROI

· Identify technology improvements and assist in establishing efficient process improvements across multiple stakeholders

· Lead and influence change by acting as a connector, internally within EY and in the marketplace

· Champion knowledge sharing globally and team with EY’s Center for Board Matters, Financial Services Board Matters, EY Alumni, D&I, EY Knowledge and other practice areas to deliver best-in-class service

· Drive and lead ad-hoc projects aligned to EY Executive and Board Network strategy

· Monitor project/program scope, to confirm that activities and deliverables occur as planned

· Manage your own portfolio of work, prioritize your own deadlines, and delegate tasks, as needed

· Work independently with minimal guidance

To qualify, candidates must have:

· Approximately ten or more years of relevant experience in director recruitment, board assessment, board advisory, and/or executive recruiting

· Effective leadership, project management, and teaming skills

· Self-starter spirit with proven ability to thrive in entrepreneurial practice areas with high visibility

· Proven ability to interact with executives (Board & C-level focus) and establish impactful, trust-based relationships

· Confidence in understanding multiple business drivers and identifying trends that translate into key market-facing initiatives

· Outstanding presentation skills

· Proven ability to collaborate and build consensus across multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization

· Ability to prioritize shifting workloads in a rapidly changing industry

· Financial services industry experience preferred, but not required

· Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Relationship-mapping software preferred

· Advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Bachelor's degree in relevant field

· May require occasional travel, both domestic and international
