Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement.

The Fixed Income Trading Assistant will work on the Fixed Income trading floor at the Wells Fargo Advisors Home Office, located in St. Louis, MO.  The Trading Assistant offers an entry level introduction to Fixed Income securities.  The Trading Assistant acts as a liaison on the Fixed Income Liaison desk, stays abreast to changes in the market place, researching factors that can cause market shifts and the strategies that are implemented during different phases of the market cycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Offer guidance to the financial advisors as to currently available rates and structures
  •  Build relationships with financial advisors and assist them in selecting the most appropriate fixed income vehicle to meet their client’s investment needs
  • Providing the trading desk with the necessary support to present inventory and execution
  • Pro-active marketing, operations and phone support including bid/offers wanted, ladder/offering sheets and BondDesk support.
  • Researching and correcting trade problems
  • Multi-task and work independently under strict time constraints
  • Work schedule: Mon  - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

This position is located in St. Louis, MO. Remote locations will not be considered. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of customer service experience, investment operations experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher



Desired Qualifications

  • Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Ability to learn and assimilate information from multiple people and sources
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Brokerage industry experience
  • FINRA registration including Series 7 and 63 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • FINRA registration including Series 52 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to process complex transactions and perform extensive research to resolve complex customer issues
  • Ability to solve complex trade transactions and identify customer-centric solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of bond math
  • Knowledge and understanding of fixed income investments



Job Expectations

  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 52 must be completed within 270 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 270 days of hire date. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
