Financial Markets Experienced Associate - Transactions

A career within Financial Markets Business Advisory services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to a variety of audit, regulatory, valuation, and financial analyses services to design solutions that address our clients’ complex accounting and financial reporting challenges, as well as their broader business issues.

Responsibilities

As an Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Certification(s) Required: 
Ability and willingness to adhere to credentialing standards of the Financial Instruments, Structured Products and Real Estate - FSR - team and PwC. This includes commitment to complete 4 part of the CPA exam or pass CFA Level 1. FSR will also consider graduate level degrees with a concentration in Finance or Financial Engineering.

Other business related fields of study may be considered (such as, Business Administration/Management, Economics, International Business, Management, Quantitative Finance). Job seekers must demonstrate all of the minimum requirements are met for CPA licensure per respective state regulations. 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills: 
Some level of knowledge surrounding financial issues, capital markets and product life cycle, knowledge which will be enhanced by working on various client engagements and assignments related to complex financial issuing, investing in or trading financial instruments. Ideal candidates will have some level of understanding of financial products and issues that both issuers and investors face as markets evolve over time. This includes some level of experience in supporting engagements that include, but are not limited to: 
- Applying accounting, tax and regulatory standards to complex financial instruments; 
- Assisting clients with their understanding of complex financial structures prior to the issuance of securitizations and assisting related parties, underwrites, attorneys, etc., with verifying that disclosures align with the underwriter’s intent of the security structure; 
- Performing valuation analysis of financial instruments and structured products; 
- Assessing the reasonableness of valuations and financial models prepared by others; or, 
- Creating independent financial models to project collateral and bond cash-flows for various debt types and related securitizations; including asset backed securities, mortgage backed securities, and collateralized loan obligations. 
Selected candidates should have some level of familiarity of financial instruments, such as derivatives and fixed income products, that are utilized within real estate finance, consumer finance, or corporate finance. Selected candidates should also have some level of familiarity with valuation techniques that are utilized for financial products.

Demonstrates proven effective problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, including the following areas: 
- Researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and financial matters; while demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills; 
- Being agile and flexible when adapting to changing client needs and market conditions; 
- Developing, utilizing or reviewing/validating complex financial models; 
- Utilizing industry software, e.g. INTEX, TREPP, Bloomberg, CapIQ, or, advanced Excel modeling; 
- Applying accounting treatments of financial products and securitizations held by financial institutions, including familiarity with regulatory requirements related to securitization; and, 
- Communicating effectively, both written and verbally, within a professional services business environment.
