Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

The Financial Institutions Coverage group (FIG) within the Investment Banking & Capital Markets division of Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) is seeking an Analyst to join its Charlotte office.  FIG consists of approximately 50 professionals located in Charlotte and New York, providing M&A, capital raising and other strategic advice to banks, insurance companies, asset managers and specialty finance companies. We provide junior bankers with the ability to work across sub-sectors to deliver a broad experience across all products, and we foster a fun and inclusive culture.

Analysts are an integral part of the Investment Banking and Capital Markets team. They are directly involved in the design, origination, and structuring of investment banking products and services for existing and prospective clients.  Specific Analyst responsibilities include:  creating detailed financial models used for valuation (DCF, LBO, merger plans, accretion/dilution, comparable company and transaction analysis); preparing marketing documents, including pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda, management presentations, fairness opinions and board presentations; and conducting extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of capital markets industry experience; or 2+ years of financial services industry experience

Job Expectations

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
