ESI Net Senior Engineer (Government)

Senior Telephony Engineer will be responsible
for the day-to-day operations, implementation, administration, configuration,
problem resolution and/or technical support for telephony/voice/ software. The
work may involve consulting with clients, hardware/software vendors, and various
telephony/voice groups.  Responsibility
will include responding to technical hardware and software design questions and
techniques in support of the telephony ACD/PBX's.  Engineer may oversee routine
hardware/software audits, ensure adherence to company security/compliance
policies, and maintain telephony application and/or hardware/software
configuration documentation.

experience with network topologies such as:  ISDN, Frame Relay, T1, T3, DS3, ATM, OC-N,
SONET, DWDM, and xDSL.  Fifteen (15) years’
experience in the telephony field. 

Required Clearance:
Must be a US Citizen and Clearable to Secret

Desired: Experience with Avaya IP Office, Voicemail, Voicemail
Pro and CCC experience; Shortel VOIP; 
Familiar with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems such as
Remedy, Netcool, HP Excellent Customer Service SkillsSelf. Works well without
direct significant direct supervision, quick to learn new skills, team worker.  Intermediate to advanced analytical skills.  Persistent with tasks, calm and patient
under pressure.  Excellent written and
verbal communication skills.  Proficient
in multitasking.  Ability to master new
tasks with minimal training.   Fifteen (15)
years’ experience in the telephony field. 
Advanced experience analyzing AC power distribution, load requirements,
and protectionAbility to calculate and specify correct UPS sizing  for applications.  Advanced understanding of DC power load
calculations, and requirements pertaining to Central office environments.  Advanced understanding of electrical
grounding as it pertains to 911 call taking installations.  Ability to analyze isolated ground systems
to ensure the isolation will not be compromised by design changes or the  addition of new equipment. Experience with
IP address space subnetting, including advanced knowledge of radio systems to
be used during 911 system design phases so that the customer can understand
their options and how radio options will interact with 911 system operation.  AutoCAD and Visio skills as they pertain to
creating documentation for Layer 1 networks, layer 3 networks, Detailed call
flow diagrams, equipment layouts that are correct to scale, electrical
schematics and wiring diagrams.  Sufficient
background in electronics, lightning protection, cable facilities, heat
loading, equipment installation, backup power generation, physical support
facilities to be able to evaluate any proposed location for suitability as a
911 dispatch center / equipment location.  Experience with finding the technical level a
customer is comfortable with so that conversations about system design and
progress are productive.
