Position Summary:

This Engineer position serves as a subject matter expert for developing and managing automation services in desktop and mobile environment covering wide spectrum of hardware, operating system, mobile devices and systems management tools. The engineer will be responsible for building and driving key initiatives in desktop engineering space working closely with clients and various Corporate Technology teams.  In addition, the engineer will work closely with desktop and remote support teams to provide Level 3 technical solution support and work closely with clients in developing & implementing capabilities in support of business needs.

Responsible for the technical support and implementation of the Time Warner Corporate desktop environment. Performs technical planning, system upgrades, OS verification and validation, evaluates alternatives solutions, and provides the day-to-day operational services including hardware, software, and systems.
Maintain and support core desktop management systems (SCCM, WSUS, and Group Policies) Windows desktop environment, MDM, application packaging and deployment, OS image management and VDI.

  • Responsible for the complete system life cycle for the creation, packaging, testing, deployment, and support of the client desktop image

  • Develop automation and deployment through the use of scripting technologies (PowerShell, Batch, and VBScript)

  • Responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex issues associated with Windows, tools and mobile devices

  • Eliminate manual processes when possible and improve the overall quality and usability of the desktop environment

  • Research and purchase/build tools for daily end user system troubleshooting and installation

  • Manage the Corporate SCCM environment leveraging advanced features of the product set

  • Provide recommendations for the technical direction of client solutions processes and software

  • Create and maintain detailed and descriptive technical documentation

  • Provide technical training to operations support staff

  • Manage end point protection security toolset (Carbonblack, FireEye, SEP, Snare) and establish secure desktop builds

  • Design, implement and manage application streaming and desktop virtualization environment

  • Build training programs to enhance desktop support team knowledge


  • 7 to 9 years experience in infrastructure technology engineering and IT management

  • Strong expertise in leveraging Microsoft System Center for patching, package deployment and workflow automation

  • Experience in working with VDI, MDM (AirWatch), Microsoft System Center (SCCM) Endpoint Protection (Symantec), Patch Management, imaging, Sysprep, .MSI file creation, Outlook, Internet software, multimedia software, encryption software (Bitlocker)

  • Ability to create functional scripts in one or more of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, VBScript

  • Basic understanding of the enterprise network principles

  • Experience working in a team-based collaborative environment with a strong focus on listening to the customer to find and recommend solutions that meet their needs

  • Strong communication and multi-tasking skills

  • Good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Schedule flexibility to work in a 24x7 multi-site environment oriented toward a goal of zero downtime
