Description About the Position: Research and respond to inquiries from energy service companies (ESCOs), brokers, consultants, regulatory personnel and any other party associated with the “Competitive Energy Markets Industry. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Provide monthly, up to date Electric Migration Report and relevant compliance information in order to ensure Commissions and regulators are kept up to date with relevant National Grid policies, processes and programs. Collate information, update internal databases and websites in order to provide information to ensure New Hampshire related information is correct. Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to highlight Regulatory changes or changes to policy that may affect them, share best practice, develop procedures and ensure mandates are met in a timely manner. Provide up to date regulatory information in order to ensure regulators are kept up to date with relevant National Grid policies, processes and programs and implementing any regulatory orders as they pertain to Customer Choice. Collate feedback and monthly metrics from programs in order to effectively track the effectiveness of current training initiatives and identify further skills-building needs of the Customer organization. Keep up to date with market / technology developments and external trends within the energy industry in order to ensure the optimization of best practice for National Grid. Conduct the necessary analysis and interpretation of data in order to support business decisions that will promote growth opportunities while mitigating risks. Work closely with other sub-functions in Customer, implementing sales / product / system training and providing support within area of expertise in order to enhance the organization’s overall skills and knowledge. Undertake miscellaneous ad hoc projects as requested, in order to support the customer function to meet its overall objectives. Additional Responsibilities for Band D: Band D employees are expected to deliver on the key accountabilities list above as well as those listed below. Develop and utilize peer group network in order to absorb and apply technical best practices within own area of specialism and enhance own expertise. Work with business partners to contribute to the identification and formulation of various customer-related strategies within own area of expertise in order to support change and innovation within National Grid. Provide in-depth knowledge in the analysis and interpretation of data in order to recommend actions that support the business in meeting its objectives such as customer migration and mitigating risks Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Knowledge of National Grid’s customer systems (CRIS, CSS). Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience required; MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or other business disciplines is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of experience within the energy industry. Possesses theoretical knowledge and understanding of National Grid’s policies and processes and how to apply them effectively. Demonstrates the ability to interpret information and analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation in order to clearly articulate the findings and anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead about next steps. Has the ability to think from first principles and demonstrates ability to challenge processes and use knowledge or trends to look at current situations. Working knowledge of appropriate risk management practices, accounting rules associated with energy commodities, and state and federal regulatory rules. Additional Knowledge & Experience Required for Band D: Band D employees are expected to have the knowledge & experience listed below. Extensive knowledge of National Grid’s customer systems (CRIS, CSS) and customer processes. Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience required; MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or other business disciplines is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience within the specific field of expertise in the energy industry. Demonstrates the ability to apply and modify complex theories and learned concepts appropriately. Demonstrates the ability to interpret information and analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation in order to clearly articulate the findings and anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead about next steps. Understands theory behind policies and processes and demonstrates the ability to challenge existing processes and ways of working e.g. taking action to avoid future crisis or create opportunities to improve existing practices. Detailed knowledge and understanding of legislative/regulatory issues affecting the energy industry. Demonstrates the ability to anticipate obstacles and think ahead about next steps.
