Emission Warranty Reporting Engineer - GPS0003662

Team member within the Vehicle Emission Certification and Compliance department responsible for working with Customer Care & Aftersales, Safety and Field Investigations, and Government Agencies. Responsible for collecting and tracking Emission Warranty information and assembling documentation to be submitted to compliance agencies.  
  • Download and process monthly warranty data, generate and submit quarterly EWIR reports, monitor and add new labor operations, track warranty on externally certified vehicles (as required), and update databases as needed
  • Determine and publish yearly emission warranted parts lists
  • Calculate and publish yearly 7/70 California High-priced emissions parts list
  • Maintain and update the emissions related labor operations list
  • Review and approve emissions warranty language for glove box warranty, Policy & Procedures manuals, and emissions warranted labor operations for the Labor Time Guide
  • Review emissions related Service Bulletins
  • Maintain required files containing all official emission warranty reporting documents & support material
  • Understand current and future regulations; participate in industry work groups as needed
  • Insure QIS2 database properly compiles emissions warranty for reporting via CREWs reports
  • Maintain emissions warranty reporting databases and parts lists
  • Perform yearly calculations and evaluations to compile 7/70 high cost parts list
  • Conduct emission warranty reporting analysis, submit government reports, and submit for Safety and Field Investigation (SFI) review as needed
  • Single point contact for Labels and Literature content and review relative to emissions warranty and parts.
  • Review emissions related Service Bulletins
  • Provide external certifying entities with required emissions warranty reporting documents and support field investigations
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering capacity in this type of area
  • Knowledge of emission standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of warranty information systems
  • Appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to work effectively with colleagues outside of US to resolve issues
  • Highly skilled in the following Key Competencies: Dealing with Ambiguity, Interpersonal Savvy, Organizational Agility, Perseverance, Problem Solving, and Written Communications.
 Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience as GM representative to Government Agencies and/or industry associations
  • Working understanding and/or prior experience with Emission Certification.
  • DFSS Black Belt
  • 5+ years of Propulsion Systems Experience
  • GART and QIS2 active user
