About the position


Prudential is seeking an Editorial Manager within the Marketing and Enterprise Growth Team of the Customer Office. This role is based in Newark, NJ, and will report to the Director of Digital Content Strategy.

The Editorial Manager will be a key contributor to the overall editorial strategy and content production for the Financial Wellness/Education hubs, helping to ensure that editorial content and experiences are developed on message, on time and on par with the high quality our team demands.

You will be a team player, with exceptional writing, organizational and relationship-building skills, and will manage all forms of content development as well as support our customer-facing businesses.

You will have the content and business understanding to partner with the Director of Digital Content Strategy, but you will also have the ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves and create, whether that means writing an article or web copy yourself or managing the production process across internal teams and external content contributors.

Key responsibilities

  • Write, edit and produce awesome, valuable stories that evoke Prudential’s style, quality, voice and tone in all formats (articles, infographics, video, quizzes, etc.)
  • Make editorial decisions and provide final sign-off for content, working with the Director of Digital Content Strategy, business partners, vendors, and Compliance
  • Keep writers on deadline and help manage content calendar
  • Collaborate with the UX team and external vendors on the visual expression of our content
  • Work closely with the other members of the organization on analytics and social listening tools to understand how content is performing and use that information to help refine future content plans
  • Support special projects such as key events, major product releases, etc.
  • Stay current on content marketing best practices and incorporate those approaches in our strategy
  • Be an idea machine


  • Minimum five years’ experience editing/writing in deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to write, edit, and proof content on a variety of topics across multiple content formats
  • Experience partnering with external influencers and technology/content providers and agencies
  • Experience with analytics-based decision making
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a process-driven mindset
  • Experience creating content for financial services and specialized demographic segments
  • Bachelor degree required, advanced degree a strong advantage
  • MS office skills required
