E-Business Consultant 3 - Web Accessibility / ADA Consultant

Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. We help our clients by developing individualized plans for everything from retirement goals to business succession planning, to family legacy intentions. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement.

The E-Business Consultant 3 - Web Accessibility / ADA Consultant provides overall and strategic focus in marketing, creative and/or product management for major e-business unit or product line, or expert-level consultation in one or more areas critical to e-business success. Establishes product, marketing or creative strategy based on assessment of competitive/customer environment. Establishes strategic marketing programs for website, new products or product enhancements, including one or more of the following: website design and content, market segmentation, alliance partners, product positioning, pricing, profitability and/or usage/account goals. Provides direction to other product/marketing areas, technology, customer care, other organizational units, alliance partners and vendors to support achievement of product and website objectives on both a project and ongoing basis. Consults and advises senior management on the e-business implications of various policies and activities. May manage a team of e-business employees, including selection and development of staff.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for questions/needs related to accessibility
  • Promote accessibility within the organization; advocate accessibility and ensuring it is brought to the table for Client Platform and TM Platform projects
  • Educate internal team members on the importance of accessibility by enhancing & delivering training presentations
  • Maintain accessibility standards for the WM organization and track areas of non-compliance
  • Act as a liaison between WM and other lines of business embracing accessibility within Wells Fargo
  • Participate in accessibility testing (with accessibility tools, assistive technologies, manual tools, etc.)
  • Maintain and contribute to an online repository for storing accessibility related education, training, artifacts, and resources that are available to internal team members
  • Remain up-to-date on the field of accessibility
  • Interact with & educate 3rd party vendors/providers about accessibility and assist in addressing accessibility issues with 3rd party vendors
  • Evaluate future vendor  for accessibility during the vendor selection process
  • Work with Client & TM platform support centers to address complaints & inquiries related to accessibility

The position can be located in any Wells Fargo Wealth Management location.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of e-business experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Financial services experience
  • Ability to consult, build, and maintain solid working relationships in and outside of immediate department
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Knowledge and understanding of accessibility methods and standards, ADA Title III, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), or Section 508 compliance guidelines

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Wealth Management and/or Wealth Asset Management strongly preferred
  • Experience working with HTML coding language highly preferred
  • 3+ years working in the field of accessibility and/or UX
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 and other accessibility guidelines & standards
  • Experience conducting accessibility testing with a variety of tools including, but not limited to, automated checkers, WAT toolbar, JAWS, etc.
  • Basic-to-intermediate understanding of coding languages
  • Strong passion for accessibility & the ability to serve as a strong advocate for this group of users
  • Proven experience successfully working with a geographically remote team
