Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Director, Total Brand Experience - Pharmaceuticals Connections to be located in Titusville, NJ and can be flexible to sit in New Brunswick NJ or NYC two days a week.

Total Brand Experience (TBX) mission is to partner to enable J&J to build brand love and value with an ecosystem that creates world class content and seamless, meaningfull connections thru to commerce to profoundly impact consumers and professionals. Accountable for growing Sales, Share, Equity and delivering ROI and Productivity goals, the TBX organization builds and leads cutting-edge Content and Connections capabilities, partnerships and operations. Key focus capability areas include: Creative Excellence, Influencer/Social, Professional, Personalization and Connected Commerce.

The TBX Director Pharmacutical Connections is a transformation and leadership role responsible for Total Brand Experience acceleration in Pharmaceuticals and contribution to the Global TBX. The Director will provide thought leadersthip and capability development to advance Pharmaceuticals Modern Marketing Connections. The director will partner internally and externally to build Modern Marketing capabilities with a key focus on CRM, Programmatic /Personaliation, Professional, Connected Commerce. They will do this by building People, Process, Partnerships and Platforms required to sustain and transform J&J Pharma’s capabilities.

The TBX Director Pharmaceuitcal Connections will build the People by onboarding terminology, training on media planning and elevating modern connections compentency. They will embed the Connections Process of the marketing framework starting with the Journey, integrating with Creative / Content Development and enabling performance marketing. This role leads the Partnerships for Pharma, overseeing the Pharma Media Agency Relationships and facilitating relationships with Power Partners to ensure Global scale and enable Pharma relevance and to strive for improvements in effectiveness and efficiency. This role will ensure maximum leverage of J&J Media investment is delivered to the Pharmaceuticals Sector, and ensure macro marketplace approaches remain relevant for specific needs of Pharmaceutical brands. They will bring a data-based approach to connections, ensure strategies are based on sound analytics and ROI models, and drive a culture of optimization and data-based approaches to performance marketing. They will provide insight into the Digital Core/Platforms needed to support leading edge connections and personalization. They will enable Global Data Privacy and Brand Safety and ensure Pharma Digital Governance Board. They will lead in service to Pharma to ensure quality in planning, execution and value creation.

As part of the TBX Global Team the Director is responsible for contributing to the development of Key Global TBX Capabilities, executing on Global TBX Capabilities in Pharm, learning and scaling across Consumer and Pharma. The Director is also responsible for communicating GMS/TBX Vision, Strategy, Learnings and Training in Pharma when relevant. Once the Director is established in Pharmaceutical they will likely be responsible to define the vision for TBX in Pharma and to lead a Global TBX Capability in partnership with the Global TBX Vice President. This role reports to Luke Kigel, the TBX Sr. Director Global Connections & Americas and dot line reports to Catherine Owen, Pharmaceuticals.

Core functions include:

  • Provide thought leadership and leading edge foresight for Pharma by bringing the outside in and linking across Consumer and Pharma to learn and scale
  • Develop organizational capability by establishing terminology, training on media planning and elevating competency of marketers
  • Define and embed Connections process to enable data-based, audience centric planning and performance optimization
  • Participate in Brand Planning on key brands to embed and align on strategic Connections.
  • Lead partnerships with Power Partners (i.e. J3/Google/Facebook) in Pharma to manage Media Planning and Buying relationships, strategy, and execution
  • Ensure best-in-class delivery of brand message and ad placement through various communications channels, leveraging current and evolving analytic and insight models
  • Help drive media innovation and evolution, leveraging data, technology, and analytics to drive Media effectiveness and ROI
  • Work closely with Procurement to ensure that Connections thinking is factored into Media agency SOW’s, KPI’s and incentives, planning and buying models, savings targets/strategy, and investment decisions
  • Lead Brand Safety and Data Privacy for Pharma as key member of Digital Governance Board.
  • Contribute to the development of Global TBX focus Capabilities, likely assuming leadership of a Global TBX Capability once established
  • Communicte GMS/TBX Vision, Strategy, Learnings and Training in Pharma when/where relevan, likely assuming defining the vision for TBX in Pharma once established
  • Conducts business activities in compliance with ethics and legal requirements. Instills Governance and Compliance


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree in Marketing, Marketing Management, or Business Administration preferred
  • 10+ years working experience with a minimum 8 years in digital marketing and media for a CPG Marketer, Digital or Media Agency is required. Experience across both client and agency, and multi market or regional experience side is a plus
  • Understanding of the role digital plays in the integrated marketing consumer experiences: CRM, Influencer, social, mobile, personalization, connected commerce etc. is required
  • Business management or application is a plus; Define business opportunity, identify application to business and build persuasive business case and embed in business operations is preferred
  • Demonstrated Connections and Content application to brand building and good understanding of traditional marketing (to build a bridge of influence). Experience with the Copy Approval process is a plus.
  • Media acumen, media market awareness and media experience in media planning and buying with demonstrated ability to simplify and socialize media concepts and landscape is required. Specific experience in Pharmaceutical cateogires is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and upper management to impact decision-making; Willingness to “have an opinion” backed up by insight and the confidence to influence key stakeholders in meetings and one to one basis is required
  • Demonstrated integrative thinking, identifying interdependencies across business, marketing and organization

  • Ability to identify opportunities for joint value creation and to negotiate for a win-win opportunity
  • This position will require up to 10% travel
