This Director within the Chief Accounting Officer’s group will work collaboratively across all Warner Bros.’ business unit and corporate groups, Time Warner finance, and sister company (Turner and HBO) associates.  By leveraging strong technical accounting, communication, presentation and writing skills, the Director will be involved in analyzing material transactions (M&A and non-M&A), recommending deal structure and accounting approach.
Technical Accounting

• Support business unit and corporate colleagues with structuring, analyzing and determining accounting position for complex, significant, and unique transactions
• Provide technical accounting/policy guidance on business unit inquiries and special projects.
• Review and evaluate contracts for significant arrangements and new business terms to identify potential accounting issues, and address as applicable.
• Research technical accounting issues, document and present matters to Time Warner and external audit.
• Assess emerging accounting standards in conjunction with the Time Warner finance group and lead implementation efforts for identified changes.

Investment, Financing and M&A

• Work closely with management supporting the execution of acquisition, investments, film-financing transactions, joint venture arrangements, warrants and other complex business combination structures.
• Play a key role in identifying and measuring sources of risk and/or value associated with proposed transactions as well as analyzing acquisition target’s financial and operational information.
• Develop detailed financial valuation models for purchase price allocation estimates in coordination with 3rd party valuation firms.
• Review purchase, sale and investment documents, proposing edits to / writing finance sections.
What do we require from you?

• A CPA is required. MBA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of Big 4 and/or entertainment experience in technical accounting and corporate finance.
• Extensive technical accounting knowledge and strong research ethic.
• High degree of initiative and ability to formulate informed financial perspectives.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
• Expert in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
