Warner Bros. Technology is currently looking for a Director, Software Engineering to oversee our Content Systems applications. This means this person will oversee software architecture for content management and distribution applications. The individual will define the software patterns and high-level designs for the technical services that provided the foundation upon which our application architectures are built. Manage multi-disciplinary teams of software engineers plus external contractors to deliver the tools and capabilities required to support WB’s business and design solutions and frameworks (including detailed technical design and architecture documents and diagrams).  

 What part will you play?

  • Manage the delivery of WB content software and platforms and manage teams of engineers and contractors to deliver, on time and on budget, multiple software and platform-related projects simultaneously. 
  • Tech chop to oversee multiple disciplines including devops, full stack dev and quality engineering. SDLC processes and knowing what it takes to lead a high functioning engineering team.
  • Serve as the software architect for WB content solutions and platforms. Collaborate with technology leadership and Division senior management to architect and design systems that meet current and future Warner Bros. needs. Evaluate, identify, and negotiation business terms for the use of 3rd party technologies in support of WB’s content management requirements.
  • Oversee the integration the various content, data, finance and line of business systems to deliver complete solutions to business requirements.
  • Review code and software design created by other members on the team which will also include delivery practices, detailed technical design documents, technical architecture diagrams, test strategies, mitigation strategies and resolution
  • Evaluate and recommend 3rd party solutions.  Manage technology vendors to define product solutions for WB’s requirements.  Monitor industry advancements and participate in technology specifications and standards as required.
  • Continually review and evaluate new technologies for applicability to WB
  • Provide input to system related capital and operating budgets; develops capital, project and operating budgets as required.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills as this person will need to have strong influential/negotiating skills with Sr. leadership.
  • Experience and solid understanding of complex digital media system architectures and infrastructures is a HUGE plus!
  • Experience with data transformation, critical issue management, and triaging

What do we require from you?
  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Over 10 years’ experience with software delivery with a focus on Continuous Delivery and Cloud applications (True DevOps)
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in technology and systems project management
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience managing a complex application(s) or platform(s) that relies on many interfacing systems.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a software engineering and delivery team
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience managing and delivering large scale systems and platforms
  • 5-7 years’ experience in software architecture
