What part will you play?
As the world’s global leader in News, CNN lives across a multitude of platforms (TV, digital, audio, social, VR/AR, OTT/VOD, etc) and is constantly innovating and experimenting in new areas. As such, we’re in search of a Director, Product Marketing who will sit on the Ad Sales side of the business, helping to arm our sellers with compelling collateral and strategy that includes solutions that take advantage of our diverse portfolio of products.
 
The Director of Product Marketing will spearhead the development of all go-to-market materials related to product-driven solutions. He/she will serve as a key stakeholder, representing the sales marketing team with product, ad operations, audience development, editorial and other cross-functional groups.
 
This position will report to the VP, News Solutions and will work across CNN, HLN with potential to collaborate with Great Big Story and the broader Turner portfolio.

What will you be doing?
  • Crafting compelling narratives / positioning / value propositions / differentiation points / feature & benefit statements around new and existing product offerings (i.e. new ad formats, podcasts, audience targeting, mobile solutions, programmatic, new platforms, brand safety tools, branded content, etc.)
  • Working with the sales team and integrated marketing partners to create and strategize custom client-specific pitches leading with product-driven concepts; must be an inventive problem-solver
  • Collaborating with sales partners to ensure offerings are being pitched; gathering feedback and providing it to relevant internal teams; adjusting messaging as needed
  • Looking holistically across products and platforms to develop broader product-focused stories – i.e. the value of video, mobile, innovation roadmaps, etc.
  • Creating case studies that showcase the strength of our offerings; working with research and analytics to ensure the right information is measured
  • Leading education and socialization efforts internally for all products throughout the sales / marketing organization
  • Working with internal partners – including head of planning and content teams to develop packaging / pricing for new products
  • Seeking out and staying-ahead of industry trends, keeping a pulse on competitive intelligence and sharing these trends with sales and marketing counterparts
 
What do we require from you?
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product marketing and/or relevant marketing, product management, or business experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling product marketing materials and to pitch said materials to sales team and clients; proven success in working with sales teams and driving revenue
  • Upbeat, can-do, proactive attitude, calm under pressure, roll-up-the-sleeves type
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – charisma and presence
  • Detail-oriented, organized and extremely creative, with an ability to handle multiple projects effectively and efficiently
  • Big picture thinker with strong understanding of digital, social, emerging and TV capabilities and offerings
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, strong understanding of Keynote and other Microsoft Office or presentation products
  • Strong aesthetic – ability to utilize diagrams and provide art direction to design teams when necessary
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt to internal tracking systems and procedures
  • Intrinsic curiosity and interest in ideation and cross-screen media consumption
  • Industry knowledge and strong interest in media trends, consumption habits and social media, a plus
  • Passion for news, CNN, media, tech, ad-tech industry
  • Ability to lead and manage projects independently
