Mastercard is rapidly expanding cross-border and cross-currency capabilities across the electronic payments landscape. The Treasury Solutions team is looking for a Director, Product Management with significant Foreign Exchange systems and risk management expertise to lead the implementation of new foreign exchange capabilities that align with our mission to make payments safe, simple, and fast.

The Treasury Solutions team are Mastercard's resident experts on foreign exchange and its role in the global financial system, the Mastercard network, and cross-currency/cross-border digital payments. The team is Mastercard’s foreign exchange “think tank” and acts in a leading or consultative capacity to support various business initiatives across products and functions.


The Director, Product Management, Treasury Solutions will act as a liaison between Corporate Treasury and business, product development and technology teams, providing subject matter expertise on foreign exchange, with the main responsibility of enhancing and growing Mastercard’s FX trading capabilities to support cross-border account to account payments.

• Re-design the Mastercard foreign exchange trading desk and risk management practices to support authorization, clearing and settlement of cross-border payments
• Develop banking relationships with local banks to enable trading and risk management activities for exotic currencies
• Develop efficient ways (systems, timing, trading partners) to source foreign exchange rates for various Mastercard products, both in G20 as well as exotic currencies
• Develop and implement risk management strategies, platforms, and processes to quantify and mitigate foreign exchange exposure arising from cross-border payment products
• Lead ideation and development of new FX products and solutions
• Lead the foreign exchange vertical for the development of new P2P and B2B products and solutions
The role requires extensive interaction with various global functions: technology, product, treasury, settlement, legal, etc. and provides an excellent opportunity for future growth at Mastercard, both in the Finance function as well as product development and regional business functions. The role presents a great leadership development opportunity and is especially suitable for people interested in growing into a broader business leadership role.

All About You:

The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong knowledge and/or interest in foreign exchange markets and practices, while also being interested in a broader functional role that includes product development and strategy. We are looking for out-of-the box, creative thinkers who are very strong analytically, and have experience working cross-functionally with product, system and technology functions. The successful candidate is someone with FX treasury experience, who is excited to stretch themselves, and who has demonstrated a track record of executing projects involving ambiguity and broad range of inputs (finance, technology, etc.).

Specific requirements include:
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong corporate finance and/or treasury and/or foreign exchange experience
• Ability to think creatively and out-of-the box; ability to challenge the status quo; demonstrated ability to innovate
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to work and communicate cross-functionally
• Understanding of programming (coding) and/or a technology background is a plus
• Product development, or system implementation experience is a plus; experience with trading systems (FXAll, 360T, Bloomberg, Broadridge) is a plus
• Excellent leadership qualities, including getting work done through others, being organizationally savvy, thought leadership
• Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, computer science, or similar analytical field; MBA preferred
