Director, Product Development & Market Solutions-Pension Risk Transfer

About the position

The global Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) market presents a significant growth opportunity for Prudential Retirement. As part of Prudential’s strategic focus on global PRT, Global Product and Market Solutions team is dedicated to supporting product development efforts across Longevity Risk Transfer (LRT) and US PRT, as well as assessing the corporate finance implications of pension risk management to cultivate a consistent recognition of pension de-risking solutions. The team is also involved in (i) publishing thought-provoking research on market developments, and how risk transfer strategies can help sponsors generate shareholder value, and (ii) structuring technical aspects of large and innovative pension risk transfer transactions. This role will report to the head of Global Product and Market Solutions, and work closely with teams across the business, including investment professionals, actuaries, finance, treasurers. risk management, PRT distribution and the business team. Job responsibilities include:
  • Guiding a cross functional team to develop new products or solutions (R&D initiative) that provide economic value for our clients.
  • Modifying or enhancing product features to create next generation market-leading capabilities for PRT products.
  • Designing and building business case for products or solutions worth pursuing
  • Creating internal presentation materials and leading new ideas through internal controls and governance process
  • Providing thought leadership and analytics to demonstrate how corporate sponsors can generate shareholder value from pension risk management strategies
  • Development of client presentations to support Prudential’s distribution team
  • Generate new ideas and assist in publishing thought-provoking research
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or credentials preferred (MBA, CFA, FSA etc.).
  • 5+ years of related experience with product development and/or financial analysis
  • Day to day management of an Associate including coaching, performance reviews, associate development, etc.
  • Excellent analytical/quantitative skills required.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence senior leaders
  • Able to thrive with individual work, as part of a team, and work across multiple teams efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to organize, prioritize tasks and work in a deadline oriented environment.
  • Resourceful and excellent problem-solving skills.
