The Pricing and Portfolio team is the part of our Innovation practice that works with our clients to optimize their pricing strategies and product portfolios.  The team uses choice modeling tools and approaches to produce results which drive business recommendations and ultimately better outcomes for our clients.

Position Description

When you join the Nielsen team, you’re signing up for an experience that requires flexibility, curiosity, and passion. As a Director, Pricing & Portfolio you will:

  • Develop the Nielsen Innovation Practice business in North America using Nielsen’s forward looking pricing and portfolio optimization tools to drive better outcomes for our clients, with revenue responsibility of $2-4MM
  • Utilize choice modeling techniques to address client objectives regarding pricing and portfolio initatives

  • Pursue new business from existing and potential clients, working with Innovation Business Partners to drive Nielsen business results through consultative selling

  • Act as senior lead and final reviewer on Pricing & Portfolio projects, accountable for successful design, execution and delivery.

  • Be a strategic client partner and trusted advisor to clients, understanding business needs and driving to successful

  • Develop a high performing team of Pricing & Portfolio consultants

  • Work with colleagues on the broader innovation team to deliver against client needs

  • Builds client relationships, viewed as a solution expert and a trusted advisor

  • Meets revenue targets, partnering with Innovation Business Partners to design projects that meet client needs and engaging in the consultative selling process

  • Ability to manage client expectations through the life-cycle of a project, ensuring strong client satisfaction

  • Consistently drives success of projects via delivery with excellence, including valued insights and actionable recommendations

  • Provides meaningful coaching and feedback to junior and mid-level associates

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Understands Nielsen’s Innovation Practice products and services and broader Nielsen solutions that impact innovation

  • Able to act independently

 

Background and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required                                                               

  • 7-9 years’ experience

  • Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude         

  • Strong Marketing/Research background

  • Relevant experience with research techniques & experimental design, choice modeling experience a plus

  • Related industries include: Consumer Packaged Goods, Consulting, Information, Sales, Analytics
