Director, ISG Market Intelligence

About the position

Prudential’s Individual Solutions Group (ISG), a growing and dynamic organization, is seeking a Director of Market Intelligence who will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic insights on the marketplace and competitive landscape to the senior leaders across ISG. The successful candidate will be part of the Strategy function and will partner with leaders from other functions (Sales, Marketing, Product, Service etc.) to deliver accurate and timely information and insights on competitive threats and opportunities. This person will act as a key business advisor in the translation of market insights into concrete business recommendations, and develop standardized tools, methodologies and supporting technologies for the MI function. Responsibilities:
  • Gather market data about our competitors and their products, the macroeconomic social and political environment to support organizational strategic decision- making
  • Define the competitive landscape, build timely, relevant and actionable content
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, value drivers, regulatory issues and anticipate competitive activity
  • Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholders, proactively identifying and addressing intelligence needs
  • Develop and grow platforms and tools to distribute market intelligence information to the broader organization
  • Identify and integrate relevant data sources to develop insights, and build a strong point of view with supporting facts
  • Develop high quality, executive level analysis with rational insight and conclusive business recommendations
  • Prioritize multiple simultaneous projects/deliverables to successful completion in a quality and timely manner
  • Collaborate with the broader Prudential organization regarding marketplace trends and opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or business-related field. MBA or other advanced degree is preferred. CFA/CPA is an added plus.
  • 10+ years of financial management, analysis or research experience performing detailed research and competitive/market analysis
  • Ability to develop and articulate a strong point of view that can inform and influence others
  • Deep understanding of the trends impacting the financial services marketplace with a focus on life insurance, annuities, retirement and investment products, services, distribution and concepts
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to assimilate, interpret and distill vast amounts of information to produce highly actionable intelligence
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present to internal and external audiences
  • Ability to operate independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent collaboration skills and commitment to building trusted relationships with business partners
