Job Description: We are seeking a marketing metrics and insights leader who is highly analytical, self-motivated and intellectually curious to join the Individual Solutions Group Marketing & Customer Insights (MCXI) team supporting Individual Solutions Group (ISG), Individual Life Insurance (ILI) and Annuities businesses. Reporting to the VP of Metrics and Insights, the Director, Intermediary Metrics is responsible for the development of the intermediary analytical efforts and insights across both businesses. You will define “metrics that matter” for the MXCI, ILI and Annuities, and provide vision and leadership to a team of professionals who will deliver metrics and insights to the ISG MCXI and ILI & Annuities business teams. You will enable, analyze and share insights on the required analytics to support the organization’s strategies. Role will be responsible for developing and constantly improving reporting, analytics and insights around marketing campaigns; identifying and delivering required data/analytics to inform and support full range of activities, including but not limited to; campaign design, channel adoption/usage, segmentation, product launches, path analysis and testing. Responsibilities:
  • Implement a formal insight loop to leverage and socialize intermediary insights and learnings for all MCXI projects, initiatives, product launches, marketing campaigns, etc. across both businesses, in order to build a foundation, enable connections, measure results, share insights, identify new opportunities, and continuously learn.
  • Identifying and rolling out new tools designed to have users directly have access to insights to self-serve.
  • Working with internal stakeholders across the organization to develop, manage and refine the ”metrics that matter” for intermediaries. Responsibilities include assessing the data, software, and reporting needs of individuals within the marketing organization, and developing what will ultimately be our marketing analytic structure, including a marketing dashboard. This will involve working with various members of IT and BI. Will also be responsible for looking across the organization, leveraging existing resources and acting as champion for new resources when necessary.
  • Providing insight and recommendations to senior leadership on intermediary efforts and identifying and sharing key learnings across businesses.
  • Understanding the Voice of the Intermediary for both businesses by partnering with the Customer Experience Organization and supporting the creation of intermediary personas or segmentation.
  • Developing and evolving reports/dashboards/scorecards that enable insights at various levels of MCXI organization. They should highlight key business/channel metrics and performance against established goals.
  • Coordinating the development and implementation with other areas of the organization on various aspects of marketing programs (product, investments, channel, project management, etc.) as it relates to intermediated efforts

  • Coordinating with cross functional stakeholders (Ad Agency, LEAP initiatives, USCO) that are needed as part of an overall marketing dashboard, but would be sourced in the areas mentioned. Will provide analytic insight as well.
  • Responsible for planning and impelementation of large projects or marketing activities supporting objectives for revenue, volume, profit, customer satisfaction, retention, etc. These would be specific initiatives which are analytics and insights intensive but contribute to our overall goals with intermediaries. An example might be the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a solution designed to analyze our social media efforts or other parts of the digital strategy designed to reach out to intermediaries.
  • Develops objectives and strategies as well as monitoring performance of results related to intermediary efforts for specialized programs.
  • Partner with vendors to enhance current reporting capabilities and identify/define future state of analytic framework as it relates to intermediary metrics and insights.

Supporting intermediary segmentation efforts to enable effective targeting. This is a much larger effort that will rely on this individual's ability to identify and assess our current intermediary marketing strategies, determine which segments are of most interest from a marketing perspective, and aid in developing a more robust schema for our marketing initiatives to Financial Professionals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of marketing (or similar) measurement and insights experience; minimum of 3 years managing and developing direct reports (performance management, hiring, coaching, development).
  • Strong consultative advisory skills and a proven track record of execution.
  • Strategic planner. Ability to take large scale projects and drive to implementation.
  • An understanding of the financial services category is a plus, as is experience with multiple distribution models, specifically third-party intermediaries and direct to consumer.
  • Experience using agile methodologies to deliver products and technologies.
  • Firm understanding and experience with data management and transformation, including platform integration (segment profiles, leads data, DSPs, DMPs, CRM). Experience with tag management, test/optimization platforms, web analytics tools, data visualization, analytics/BI tools, and big data platforms such as hadoop.
  • A thorough understanding of the marketing analytics ecosystem and evolving landscape and a clear point of view of how to categorize, measure, and analyze disparate data to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
  • A leader who can command presence and build relationships across the organization.
  • Able to clearly articulate complex technologies and concepts to stakeholders.
  • Proven ability in building processes and systems within a matrixed organizational structure.
