Director, HR Business Partner (Actuarial )

About the position

HR Business Partners (HRBPs) act as strategic advisors and coaches to build organizational capabilities, drive workforce performance, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and change management. In this critical role, the Director, HRBP will support various areas in the Actuarial organization.
The Actuarial organization is comprised of approximately 700 associates. The incumbent in this role will have accountability for several functions within the Actuarial organization and work closely with another Director, Actuarial HRBP in support of initiatives and objectives which span across the Actuarial organization or their respective distinct client groups.
Primary Responsibilities include:
• Provide advice and counsel on HR related disciplines, including, but not limited to, the acquisition of talent, organizational development, talent management, performance management and retention.
• Lead various aspects of the organization through the necessary changes needed to help to achieve key business goals.
• Coach and develop managers to expand and develop their people management capabilities
• Partner closely with the HR Centers of Expertise (COE’S) such as Employee Relations, Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness and Inclusion and Diversity.
• Partner with line managers on cyclical processes and with the COE’s to
acquire, retain and develop diverse and high performing talent
• Collaborate with other Corporate Centers and Actuarial HRBP’s on special projects and cross functional initiatives.
Qualifications• Bachelor degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant human resources experience.
• Experience supporting a finance function and/or investment organization, a plus
• Proven track record leading and influencing Senior Leaders and functional heads
• Sound knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of HR disciplines
• Excellent business acumen.
• Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization while being a business ally and advocate for employees.
• Demonstrated experience in being an ambassador of change in a complex and results-driven organization; ability to be influential, innovative, nimble, proactive and collaborative.
• Proven resiliency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Occasional travel to Hartford, CT, Dresher, PA and other locations in NJ when needed
