TBX’s (Total Brand Experience) mission is to build brand love and value with an ecosystem that creates world class content and seamless connections thru to commerce to profoundly impact consumers.  TBX is part of GMS (Global Marketing Services) within the GFO (Global Franchise Organization).


Responsibilities: 


In  this transformational role, the Director, Global Creative Excellence will partner internally and externally to help elevate J&J as a world class creative organization recognizing that creative has the potential to profoundly transform people’s lives and creative excellence is the highest ROI driver. The candidate will be responsible for designing global platforms and capabilities that drive sales, grow brand equity and build capability of our marketers (currently focused on storytelling and socializers).  This person will also help transform J&J from a TV centric organization to mobile, commerce, social at the core and deliver the future of creative excellence and personalization.  The Director, Total Brand Experience Global Creative Excellence sets the vision for the marketing framework, operationalizes the agency model, integrates power partners (agencies, digital, innovators) and connects data & analytics.  The Director will lead the development of platforms that leverage global scale and operationalize for local nuance and activation to deliver best in class creative excellence.  Moreover, the director leads the Creative Excellence Capability agenda and integrated plans across the globe.

To deliver against this intent, the director will partner across the Global Consumer organization including Global Marketing Services (GMS), Global Franchise Organization (GFO), and Regional Marketing Organization to stand-up and execute our new holding company agency model and global production platform and transform our ways of working inside J&J and across our power partner ecosystem.  

The Director, Total Brand Experience Global Creative Excellence acts as an advocate on behalf of Power Partners (Facebook and Google) and agencies within the J&J organization. He or she is a resource to understand, elevate and navigate issues that partners may be having, and break down internal barriers and J&J to improve the effectiveness of our partnerships. This  individual must have experience in building purpose driven brands, have a passion for storytelling, a talent for clear, compelling communication and vision to take the creative excellence agenda to the next level.  We are seeking a versatile leader – creative, committed, and analytical with enthusiasm who will partner to deliver our mission to elevates ability to deliver World Class Creative.  

This is a pivotal role in delivering and driving content excellence, efficiency and, effectiveness globally:

  • Enable best in class brand-building, setting the vision for what “creative excellence” is and a roadmap for how to get there
  • Partnering to unleash J&J’s brand equities to elevate to purposeful brands
  • Drive Sales transforming Creative Excellence as the top ROI driver
  • Deliver productivity savings through agency ecosystem and JNJ way of working
  • Owning the operationalization and penetration of J&Js Connections & Content Framework and ecosystem
  • Operate with excellence in global operations across agency ecosystem, power partnerships and JNJ
  • Build Brand Equity/Love defining JNJ Way of Marketing
  • Build organizational capability, with current focus on storytelling and socializer
  • Build the vision to further elevate J&J to deliver award winning, world class creative
  • Identify missing capabilities and identify a plan to develop & oversee these new capabilities globally
  • Grow Global Share by operationalizing Content Excellence Framework (4Ps)

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA degree would be an advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years working experience with strong knowledge of Marketing is required
  • Experience in consumer segments where J&J competes is preferred
  • Superior leadership and strategic marketing skills. Strong experience in Communications, Digital, Data, Social, PR and Professional Marketing is required
  • Demonstrated business acumen skills, preferably gained through multi-sector or multi-functional experiences is required
  • Experience with managing individuals is required
  • Strong customer and marketplace focus; negotiation and influencing skills
  • The incumbent must have the business maturity and demonstrated track record to deal with and influence a large and complex executive stakeholder group
  • Strong consulting and analytical skills. Proven ability to synthesize and make meaning of large quantities of information; Ability to draw conclusions and form opinions based on complex and varying data and information is required
  • Proven leadership, strong executive presence, with demonstrated experience engaging with and/or presenting to management boards or senior leadership teams. Confidently vocalizes own perspectives and opinions is required
  • Excellent organization and project/time management skills with strong results orientation mindset.  Ability to strategically shape and connect various events, patterns and issues. Ability to have a forward-looking view and strategically plan events in a logical sequence.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, customer orientation and organization skills
  • Understanding of the complexities of operating in a matrix global framework is required
  • Strong communications skills verbal, written and through different types of technology and media.

  • This position will require a minimum of 20% travel with availability to spend time in the different consumer offices (New Brunswick, Skillman and Fort Washington) as well as with our agencies in NYC.
