Director, Executive Compensation

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will manage the end-to-end process for developing, reviewing, and submitting materials for the TIAA Human Resources Committee and HR-related materials for the TIAA Board and other relevant Boards and Committees. It will also assist in the administration of Enterprise Governance processes and procedures for subsidiaries relating to compensation. The role will report to the Senior Director, Executive Compensation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Manage agendas for all scheduled and ad-hoc HR Committee meetings.

  • Partner with TIAA Corporate Secretary to ensure timely submission of all TIAA HR Committee materials and HR-related materials for the TIAA Board and other relevant Boards and Committees (e.g., T-C Funds Board, Board of Overseers).

  • Draft compensation-related Committee and Board materials.

  • Serve as the point of contact with HR and other business areas for purposes of coordinating and consolidating other HR-related Committee and Board materials. Serve as primary reviewer for all such materials.

  • Serve as the point of contact for subsidiaries with respect to the administration of Enterprise Governance processes related to compensation.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in HR or HR consulting function

  • Experience with preparing presentations (including memos and reports) for both internal and external audiences

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or other related field or equivalent work experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to frame problems and solutions. Candidates will be asked to present writing samples as part of the interview process

  • Possess a strong analytical mind; complex and creative thinking as well as concern for accuracy and detail

  • Possess the ability to work proactively and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously

  • Direct experience with the preparation of compensation committee or board materials, and with board reporting software (Diligent) a plus
