Director, Digital Financial Planning

About the position

Prudential is seeking a Director of Digital Financial Planning with a proven retail financial planning background. This person filling this role will be instrumental in guiding the strategic vision as well as managing the tactical responsibilities of the product management team.

The work for which the Director of Digital Financial Planning will be responsible for requires strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively manage product initiatives. We are looking for a self-driving financial professional, preferably with product management experience, who has an innate thirst for knowledge to own resolution of certain issues and not simply execute projects on a timely basis. Team work is important for this role, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

As Director of Digital Financial Planning, you will be part of the product management team to help shape, direct and execute our product vision. You will be responsible building digital tools and solutions to help retail clients better understand their financial status and achieve their financial goals. You'll be challenged to blend customer-centric principles with industry-changing innovation. You will work directly for Prudential’s VP of Digital Product Management in the Customer Office and integrate with product, marketing and digital technology teams, to create experiences that delight and wow our customers.

Major Responsibilities include

  • Interact regularly with senior professionals to design financial planning, insurance, and investment tools
  • Collaborate with partners to effectively position our digital platform, craft our story for clients and prospects and enhance existing products
  • Proven experience in gathering and transforming customer/business needs into an actionable product roadmap, and product roadmaps into product requirements
  • Understanding of customer transactions and communication, operational work flows, internet technologies, as well as development methodology for a complex multi-business environment
  • Strong user experience sense with a record of building great products
  • Top notch written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership
  • Experience using agile methodologies to deliver products and technologies is a huge plus
  • Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others in a highly collaborative environment
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Financial Planning and/or Product Management experience
  • Ability to translate complex calculations and simulations into easily understood language for the retail market
  • Strong understanding of the financial planning concepts as well as investment, insurance, and annuity products
  • Solid understanding of financial, legal, and compliance regulations and guidelines
  • Desire and ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and partnership skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • B.A or B.S. degree, MBA and/or CFP preferred
