Director, Product Management - North America

As part of the US Core Products Group, The Debit Team is focused on building superior products and solutions for MasterCard – aligned with the needs of our retail banking partners, the end consumer and other key partners.
This is a key role in driving the US Debit Strategy in relation to how our product integrates into our partner banks business model and strategy. In summary, this would require the candidate to:
• Provide Best-in-Class services to ensure the ongoing relevance of MasterCard in Debit as an integral component of the consumer household’s primary checking account.

• Support the execution of the Debit Product Strategy.

• Work with key customers to identify, develop and launch relevant product solutions that enable differentiation and that meet the needs of all the constituents.

• Partner with internal & external stakeholders consisting of banking institutions, in house consulting team and sales force to ensure seamless and efficient product deployment that benefits both our customers and the consumers that use our products

• • Leverage your experience to provide thought-leadership and market insights to support existing and prospective customers.

• Act as a retail banking & debit expert, to advocate and champion to internal and external stakeholders.

• Identify, evaluate and prioritize business cases for new product and service opportunities, to improve the services Mastercard provides to our customers.

• Drive cross organizational collaboration and delivering full buy-in and support across the organization.

• Provide consultative sales leadership through a combination of deep functional skills and a thorough understanding of MasterCard assets.

• Partner with Key Account Teams, Customer Delivery and Marketing at senior levels to define and drive execution of go-to-market strategies.

• Be an industry expert and continually testing the applicability of solutions in the changing regulatory and competitive environment.

The candidate should demonstrate:
• Retail Banking Product Management, Project Management, or Consulting experience, ideally including checking/DDA or deposit products.

• You have a working knowledge of how a retail bank functions, with an understanding of the profitability model, customer experience and the operational processes.

• Excellent project management skills, with strong problem solving, analytical, quantitative communication and organizational skills.

• Experience of defining go-to-market plans and leveraging market insights to differentiate from competitors.

• Ability to develop, own and driving strategic direction – particularly in a cross-functional environment.
