The PGIM Data Strategy team has an open position for the newly created role of Director, Data Strategy Project Management & Analysis. PGIM’s newly formed Data Strategy Team will enable PGIM to execute innovative solutions that will help shape our future. As a team, we will provide information architecture and data expertise to help our business fully leverage the vast set of data, platforms, and technologies available and provide insightful, strategic guidance. What you’ll do:

Manage significant projects within the PGIM Data Strategy team and provide technical writing and business analysis services. Responsible for providing support to the investment management business overall, and PGIM corporate functions as applicable to data strategy.

  • Participate in efforts to redesign or modify the data strategy as part of, or in coordination with, business improvement initiatives. In addition, find opportunities to generate revenue or improve business performance through the use of internal or external information content and context.
  • Prepare conceptual and logical subject area models and implementation-level details that affect the continuum of disciplines involved in the architecture, design, implementation and management of data strategy.
  • Drive the implementation of Data Strategy projects and capabilities
  • Act as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems for data strategy
  • Evaluates new applications and identifies requirements.
  • Evaluates new data strategy developments and evolving business requirements and documents the process
  • Prepares communications and makes presentations on requirements, enhancements, and or alternatives.
  • Develops departmental plans, including business, production and or organizational priorities.
  • Controls resources and policy formation in area of responsibility. Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives.
  • Socialize information management technologies and provide in-project consultation to “show the way” using new data exploration methods and technologies
  • Own the development of the requirements, principles and models for the future-state PGIM Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA), as well as the documentation of the current-state information architecture.
  • Identify the gaps between the future-state and current-state information architecture and work with other enterprise architects to develop plans for moving toward the future state.
  • Ensure data strategy is properly scoped on enterprise information — those information assets that are deemed enterprise-significant as determined by business impact, decision impact, risk mitigation impact or organizational impact.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, engineering, math, business, etc. or equivalent experience
  • Minimally 6 years of experience serving mostly as a project manager / business analyst within professional services / finance (huge plus)
  • You have been a project leader/owner, leading team members to successfully complete a large initiative that has made significant business impact
  • Having hands-on experience project managing MDM, BI, big data, or data warehouse solutions (nice to have)
  • You love partnering with clients to create solutions that have meaningful impact to the end users and their organizations
  • You have working knowledge of Data Management concepts
  • A desire and capacity to quickly absorb new concepts and technologies
  • Experience working on a multi-functional team
  • Leading and influencing through teamwork and collaboration
  • You have some information classification expertise at the enterprise level
  • An understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models
  • Knowledge of metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources
  • You are comfortable working with ambiguity and abstract concepts
