Director, Data Platform Owner for DNA Consumer & CMD

The WW Data Platform Owner for DNA Consumer & CMD Lead is responsible for platforms vision, strategy and roadmaps across the Consumer and CMD data platforms offerings. He / She is responsible for the product line area data platform strategy to enable "economies of scope" across Consumer & CMD, globally and within regions. He / She drives the long-term roadmap for data platforms, end-to-end data integration and enablement of analytics, including optimization & efficiency of data platforms, future enhancements or capabilities built, and identification of new platforms & data products.  He / She is responsible for managing the cross-region data platforms and providing over-sight and support to platforms and products within each region that fall within the product line area for Consumer and CMD. He / She aligns stakeholders and implementation teams around common measurable platform goals and engages the business in the data platform development process to drive businesses focused insights and analytics across CMD and Consumer. They shape & drive the effectiveness of the DNA product line and drive business value for all regions. Additionally, this role will maintain strong alignment with the Regional DNA Product Line Leads and Cross-sector DNA Lead.

                                                            Major Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Develop and articulate Data Platforms vision, goals and business value
  • Define operating intent for Data Platforms aligned to overall sector strategic intents and regional intents
  • Prioritizes and aligns with business and JJT stakeholders
  • Delivers platform demonstrations and presentations to internal customers and external data partners
  • Manages project plans, roadmaps and budgets
  • Drive Data Platforms strategy and catalog
  • Market insights into best-in-class Data Platforms capabilities to enable "economies of scope"
  • Drive technical and cross-region data platforms strategy for a Consumer & CMD Product line area aligned to overall DNA Product Line and integrated JJT vision
  • Develop and manage data catalog across Consumer and CMD in service of global and regional data discovery, data science, reporting and advanced analytics products
  • Shape and lead data platforms offering to maximize business value and alignment with business priorities
  • Manage all stages of Product Line Area lifecycle and performance
  • Consolidate and prioritize appropriate data platforms/ products within Consumer & CMD DNA PL area.
  • Drives standardization and consistency of Consumer & CMD DNA data platforms
  • Enable effective end-to-end management of data platforms as a product to drive & support businesses focused insights and analytics
  • Resolve technical or product related data platforms conflicts, and make key decisions for platforms and KPIs
  • Plan solution engineering/test and release for data platforms within Consumer & CMD Product Line Area
  • Drive governance and control of DNA data platforms enhancements
  • Support roadmap for platform/ products (including leveraging capabilities cross-region, between Consumer and CMD)
  • Coordinate cross-region dependencies, insight, and awareness
  • Data partnerships, governance and compliance
  • Responsible for leading and executing a consistent, harmonized, sustainable and effective WW Data Governance
  • Program that complies with enterprise established requirements.
  • Implement control structures to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
  • Working across business functions, regions, legal and data operations to delivery consistent data quality.
  • Provide thought leadership and participate in projects that involve any upstream or downstream data flows and processes
  • Partner with Information Security and Risk management teams to create policies and controls for the appropriate protection of information assets through a defined life cycle, from acquisition or creation to end of life.
  • Create and manage strategic data partnerships with technology teams with Google, Nielsen, Facebook, Salesforce, etc.
  • Data Platforms ownership oversight
  • Shape TCO by providing transparency into financial incentives and user-unit-cost for data platforms
  • Oversees total cost of ownership for DNA Product Line Consumer & CMD data platforms
  • Drive adoption of platforms, including interfacing with the product owners and BTLs to help shape demand coming in from the business to enable data platforms efficiencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, data and analytics, or business administration
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within a large, global and matrixed organization is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading agile products as a product owner / technical product owner  
  • A minimum of 10 years leading a line of business or an engineering/product development team
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience managing analytics and data focused projects
  • 10+ years of experience demonstrating strong understanding of business goals and objectives, with the ability to relate priorities to product to platforms to enable "economies of scope"
  • 10+ years of experience as both a team member and leader of Global team
  • 5+ years of knowledge of funding models and management of technology platform budgets and programs
  • Experience effectively collaborating and managing stakeholders
  • Expertise driving adoption to improve platform user base
  • Ability to make decisions for products and platforms based on highest value
  • Excellent knowledge of Analytics use cases in the areas of Sales & Marketing including, but not limited to, precision & digital marketing, e-commerce analytics, customer analytics, etc.
  • Strong proficiency/expertise in Product Line Area within DNA technologies and capabilities
  • Experience managing data strategy across internal & external stakeholders.
  • A strong background and interest in DNA technology, analytics and commercial analytics is required.
  • Experience managing data partnerships with Google. Facebook, Salesforce, Nielsen is required
  • Strong proponent of change, primarily by championing change within and across organizational boundaries as well as processes and standards.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to work effectively with senior business leaders and other key stakeholders throughout the region.
  • The ideal candidate will have a transformative and strategic mindset to help shape the organization towards a deeper data driven business strategy, digital and precision marketing.
  • Proven leadership abilities to partner well, motivate and inspire large teams (internal and external), as well as leading peers and influencing senior executives.
  • The role requires the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and resources in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and flexible, have strong attention to detail, and possess the ability to complete projects within aggressive timeframes and lastly analytical.
